This coupler can be either bolted or welded to your trailer. Repair kits are no longer available from Fulton but at the price, you might as well go ahead and just get a new one. My only issue with the last one was the moving parts looked rusty. There wasn't an integrity problem but it was only superficial surface rust. It still worked OK but I ordered a new one and scavenged the guts to install in my old one (it was welded on so it was easier than just swapping the whole thing). Now my coupler looks good again. I would have given 5 stars if the repair kit was still available.
