We distribute thousands of vest each year to commercial river outfitters, rental companies and canoe liveries. Everyone has a problem with color fading. So, about four years ago we sprayed the front panel of a canoe vest with 303 and put it up on the top of our building. The roof is painted aluminum, so the sun's reflection is extreme. My original intention was to spray the vest panel about every four months as a good test. However, it wasn't until yesterday that I found the vest. I had completely forgotten all about it. The color had faded. I wished that I had followed through with my original plan, but I didn't. What I found was pretty amazing anyway. The part of the vest which had been sprayed only once was intact, but all the rest of the panels were rotted by the sun and rain and had blown away by the wind. It is simply amazing that the one panel, even though it was faded, was serviceable. If the whole vest had been treated it would still be usable.
