Hi, my name is Andrew Wheeler - the product Manager for Abu Garcia. I’d like to speak to you about the classic 7000 series of reels here. We’ve got two reels here – the 7000i C# and the 7000i and both of these reels are known for being just utter work horses. Both of these reels feature a brass gear system which is extremely hard wearing. They also feature a synchronized level wind system which allows is for the line lay to retract whether you are retrieving line or if the line is coming off the spool and just stop that sharp angle of the line so it doesn’t dig into itself under heavy pressure.

These reels also feature a multi disk drag system which will give you a smooth drag operation across the whole drag range. And again they also feature line out alarms so these will just give you a noise, a clicker to let you know that line has been taken off your reel for if you’re trolling or free live baiting.

The major differences in these reels are that the 7000i C3 has 3 ball bearings and the 7000i has a single bearing. So if you are looking for a very durable and hardworking reel that can be used for either surf casting in the salt or throwing large baits for muskies in the fresh water check out the 7000 series of reels.
