Soldering Tips
Remember these important guidelines when soldering is required:

• The wire and terminal must be clean and free from corrosion. Wire conductors which are oxidized or corroded (black or green in appearance) should never be used.
• Select the proper solder. Low temperature: 40% Lead - 60% Tin; Rosin flux.
• Solder melts at about 375 F. Care should be taken not to overheat the wire or terminal, as damage can occur.
• The solder joint should be bright and shiny. A dull appearance might indicate a cold joint which will fail prematurely.
• Do not use too much solder. Capillary action will "wick" solder through the end of wire. After cooling, mechanical disturbances, such as vibratino or flexing, can cause this "hard spot" to fracture and disrupt continuity.
