Aqua Shield™ - Multi Season - Waterbase Ablative (45% Copper)

Aqua Shield has a high copper content (45%) in a water base ablative technology. This coating will provide multi-season protection for high fouling conditions. No paint build-up will occur and eliminates the need for heavy sanding. Multi-season paint for superior protection against hard and soft growth in high fouling waters and can re-launch after extended haul-out while retaining original antifouling properties. Perfect for powerboats and sailboats and can be applied directly over properly prepared ablatives, epoxies and vinyl's and most any other hard or ablative bottom paints.

Surface Prep: Surface must always be clean, dry and properly prepared prior to painting. Failure to do so will lead to eventually blistering and or peeling. All sanded surfaces must be wiped clean with Dewaxer -973 to remove sanding residue.

General Application: For use on boats below the true waterline. Can be brushed or rolled on fiberglass, wood, steel and previously painted surfaces per application systems below. Do not use on aluminum. Apply at least 2 coats for best performance as the life o f the paint is proportional to the number of coats applied.

Theoretical Coverage: Depending on surface conditions, one gallon of bottom paint will usually cover over 400 feet of surface when brushed or rolled.

Estimated Dry Times: Can be overcoated after 3-4 hours at 75 degrees. Prior to launching, allow a minimum dry of overnight. If drying conditions are poor, or if paint was applied to othickly, longer periods of drying will be required. Fresh coats of paint must be thoroughly dry before over coating.

Just splashed
by Ronald from The Villages, Florida on May 05, 2016
Paint mixed easily and dried quickly, less than two hours in cool weather. Just splashed so time will tell about effectiveness here in the lower Chesapeake.

Great product - cost effective
by Phil from greensburg, Pennsylvania on February 03, 2014
Have used this for a few seasons now in fresh water (river). Moderate to high fouling area in the marina. This product prevented all growth while my neighboring boats had 1-2 feet long green growth off the sides. Harder finish for an ablative, but not overly hard. Does not come off when loading/unloading off trailer at the beginning and end of season. Highly recommended.
