Brass Euro Reading Light, 12V - Taylor Made

I recently ordered 5 of these lights for my house boat. When you attach these to a wall, you will require a "base" as the way these are mounted, there is simply NO way to mount them tight against the wall due to the wires coming directly out the back of the unit and the way the base is screwed together. I found a way around this was to have wooden "bases" made to attach the light to first, then attach the light to the wall. This way it frees up the wires. Also, the first light I attempted to use literaly came apart in my hand. When I looked at the small circuit board in the back, I found that when they assembled it, they broke off a tab that holds it together. The reason I figured this was during assembly is because there was still some sort of glue on the broken end of the tab.
