Cabo Yachts 40 Flybridge - Express Fisherman Boat

2009 Cabo Yachts 40 Flybridge Description

The Cabo 40 Flybridge benefits from the uncanny ability of Cabo engineers to give a boat the ride of a much larger boat with the agility of a smaller vessel. Built on a hull designed by Michael Peters for the Cabo 40 Express, the 40 Flybridge is destined to be the fastest in the fleet of current sportfishermen in the 40-foot range. Before your boat was put into production, did the builders run the boat with the steering disconnected? Did they add and remove running strakes? Or change chine angles? The majority of builders don't bother. Cabo does all of this and more to assure that its new models are introduced only when everything is right. Before the first 40 hull ever hit the water, a scale model was tank tested. What did the engineers find? That the 40 hull ran a little faster with more strakes. So Cabo added strakes. They discovered that the least amount of spray hit the top-sides when the chines were molded at a 10 degree downward angle. So they altered the chines. And when the first hull was ready for testing, Cabo disconnected the steering at sea and allowed the rudders to set themselves- the best way to determine just how much toe-in or toe-out they need to achieve perfectly straight tracking. Net results? The 40 hull has proven to be fast, dry and comfortable and runs straight when you let go of the wheel. Consistency As with every boat ever built by Cabo Yachts, the engineering and construction are first class. Check out the wiring. It is labeled, color coded, more tightly loomed and rigidly organized than the wiring on any other boat you'll see. In fact, the 40 Express' wiring is the best of any production fishing boat on the water today. Look behind the dash on several different boats when you do the boat show circuit this year, you won't find a better setup. Also, note the Cabo 40 Flybridge transom livewell. It has 16 separate water inlets going up the sides to eliminate dead spots. The dump valve is 2" and drains the well completely in minutes. And, of course, it's lighted. Quality As Cabo often says, quality is in the details and there is nearly an endless list of details that push the Cabo 40 ahead of the average sportfisherman. The locking pins securing the engine room ladder are triple the normal size. The instrument console can easily accommodate today's large screen electronics. The standard oil exchange system and all washdowns are fitted with quick disconnects. Raw-water intakes for the livewell and washdown have sea strainers. The custom made fiberglass fuel tank is glassed to the hull and deck. Shafts are 2" in diameter, the size usually found on 45' to 50' boats. The stovetop is recessed an inch so sliding pots won't end up on the galley sole. A crash pump fitted to the engine can evacuate up to 6,540 gph. Everywhere you look, above or below deck, you see detail, thought and flawless execution and soon you realize why Cabo has become the leading builder of offshore sportfishing boats in America. *-Speed and range figures may vary due to load and sea conditions.
