2007 Cabo Yachts 47 Flybridge Description
Forty one built. (Last hull production April 2003) The Cabo 47 convertible took the sportfishing world by storm with its introduction in 1999. The first production hull, South Jersey Champion, was delivered to owner Dick Weber, a professional in the marine industry dedicated to his passion for fishing and boats. In purchasing his newest boat, Dick had in mind the trip of a lifetime - a trip that would take him to some of the best billfishing hotspots in the world. This meant that after taking delivery in Newport Beach, California, South Jersey Champion's shakedown cruise would take her on a 9 month trek over 5300 miles, through the Panama Canal and back up the U.S. eastern seaboard. Along the way, they caught and released over 700 billfish. The selection of the Cabo 47 for a trip of this magnitude attests to the fishing features, strength and performance that have come to be synonymous with the Cabo name. Where it all started. Given the astonishing performance of the 47, many asked the question, How did Cabo bring out a brand new boat that seemed as if it had been refined over many years? The answer? Extensive, in-depth research and development. Before bringing the 47 to market, various aspects of the hull design and weight distribution were tested and retested. A full size test boat was built with no interior, and outfitted with water filled ballast tanks, resulting in a full size tank test model. Water was pumped between the tanks while running the boat to find the optimum center of gravity and hull form. The result is a boat that is as nimble as much smaller vessels, while offering the smooth ride, speed and range of much larger boats.2007 Cabo Yachts 47 Flybridge Specifications
