New 2009 Cape Horn Boats
About Cape Horn Boats
The Cape Horn Boats Company, family owned and operated, has been building boats on the north coast of Florida since 1988. We started the business mainly to fill our own need for a "no-nonsense," high-quality fishing boat for the Gulf of Mexico. Many other people wanting the same type of boat convinced us to go into production. We produce 6 models and do a limited production of 250 boats a year, which is the only real way to assure quality and integrity.
All Cape Horn boats are designed and developed in-house from the drawing board to the prototype. Everyone at Cape Horn boats is committed to building the finest boats in their class. Many of our workers are fisherman and know what it takes to build a first-class fishing machine.
Features
One of the finest features of a Cape Horn boat is the ride. We will challenge any other builder to show us a hull that rides as soft, dry and efficient as one of the new Cape Horn boats. You will not be disappointed with the performance and price of these new hulls when compared to other boats in the size and class.
Cape Horn boats also feature the necessities to fish. Large fish boxes and fuel tanks, lots of rod holders, and most of all, plenty of room to fish. The equipment installed in Cape Horn Boats will hold up over years of use. All of the hardware is stainless steel for strength and wear. Our fuel tanks are made of non-metallic materials which will not corrode or break. Wiring is first class with tinned wire to prevent corrosion from salty environments. Just look inside one of our consoles and see the difference. All of our boats are unsinkable and self bailing. All new Cape Horn boat owners quickly discover that our boats are very low maintenance.
Construction
Our motto has always been "None Built Stronger." There is no compromise in our boats when it comes to strength and toughness. Unlike most builders, Cape Horn boats strength criteria come from the boat's function rather than a cost criteria.
All Cape Horn boats are made form solid fiberglass (7-14 plies) and composite materials that contain no wood. This guarantees extreme longevity in harsh, wet environments. The hull and the deck are glassed together in the mold to form a one piece structure that is the strongest most rigid method out there. It also prevents hull twisting that can rob performance and cause excessive stress cracking.
Our engineers spend as much emphasis on rod holder placement as we do on engine installation. The final boat is inspected and all systems checked and rechecked. The boat is now ready for final detail.
After a careful cleanup and again an inspection, the final product is now ready for the president of Cape Horn Boats (Chris Fabbro) to inspect. No boat may leave until he feels it meets all of the Cape Horn Boats standards.
Once cleared, the completed boat is loaded on a factory supplied trailer. It is then sent to one of our many dealers for delivery to an eagerly awaiting customer and not so happy fish. With a unique construction process, Cape Horn Boats is unlike any other. Hand building every aspect of the boat in-house delivers control over quality and end performance.
