The History of Century Boats
Century Boats have been producing quality performance fishing and pleasure boats for over 80 years. Century Boats Company was founded in 1926 in Milwaukee, WI. In 1928 the company moved to Manistee, MI where it stayed for over 60 years. Century Hurricane held the world’s Outboard speed record of 50.93 miles per hour. By 1937 Century Boats offered 28 models. Century Boats was awarded a government contract to manufacture 3600 boats for WWII. Century Boats received the Army-Navy E Citation for high achievement in the production of materials.
The “Thoroughbred of Boats” slogan was created in the 1950’s. The popular Coronado boats were used in two Hollywood films in the 1950’s as well. Century Boats had 343 authorized dealers. In the early 60’s Century Boats introduced a 45’ motor yacht and it’s first jet-powered boat. In the late 60’s they began creating fiberglass hulls. Century Boats began to grow the Parts piece of their business in the 1970’s. They also began to develop their Sales and Marketing departments. They purchased a fleet of tractor-trailers to haul their own product.
The Panama City plant was opened in 1983, which is where Century Boats resides today. The Century Tournament Skier was introduced as well as the Miramar model. Yamaha Motor Corp. purchased Century Boats in September of 1995. In August of 1995 Century Boats and Cobia Boat Company merged to form C&C Manufacturing. To meet consumer demand, Century Boats began producing a selection of small and medium sized center console boats and new 19-foot bay boat. In March of 2005 Century Boats sold the Cobia brand moving to “One Brand, One Vision.”

Today Century Boats offers a full line of saltwater fishing boats from 17’ – 32’ including walkaround center console, dual console and inshore models to meet the demand of pleasure and tournament anglers.
Our offshore center consoles offer a variety of features that set us apart from other boat manufacturers. Our offshore boats come with 45 gallon calming blue aerated bait wells with a cutting board and transom rod holders. They include foldable rear seating for your convenience and an Easy Access Kohler 7kw gas generator. They include a starboard jump seat and Isotherm refrigerator door. They may come standard with a bait prep station featuring sink and raw water wash down, gaff and brush holder, cutting board and knife/pliers holder and two stainless steel cup holders.
The feature packed helm includes expansive dash for flush-mount electronics, trim tab switched, Yamaha command link gauges, tilt steering, AC vent, DC accessory switches, water tight stereo compartment with J-port for MP3 player, 12 Volt outlet and cell phone storage.
