When applied correctly, Sikkens will last for several years. Lasts longer than teak oils for sure.

tired of teak upkeep
by Jack from Clyde, Ohio on August 14, 2017
The teak on my Catalina was looking very tire and I am tired of the constant upkeep. After talking to numerous boat owners I decided to give Sikkens a try. It shipped from Iboats in 2 days and was easy to use on my prepared teak. I put on 4 coats and it looks fantastic. I have high hopes that it will continue to look like this for many seasons so I am free of the annual teak work.

Cetol Marine Wood Finish for Brightwork

Great product. Easy to apply and looks great. Better than conventional varnish because it lasts almost as look and is easier to refinish.

Front doors - maintenance
by Carol from Morehead City, North Carolina on May 25, 2016
I have 8' teak front doors and when the house was built, the first coat on the doors was Minwax....a disaster after 12 months. Stripping them down I put a coat of Sikkens Cetol on them. They looked incredible!!! It's been 4 years, and this year I washed the doors and put on one coat of Sikkens Cetol. Again they look incredible and I can relax for at least 4 years. I love this product!!

Fetal Marine Natural Teak
by Neil from Pine Knoll Shores, North Carolina on April 30, 2016
Goes on great and looks great. You have to start with bare wood but since 95 percent of the old varnish had peeled off it was easy to sand and prep. You don't have to sand between coats and a friend recommended it because you only have to lightly sand/scratch the surface next year to reapply. This is a penetrating product not a layering product. You don't get that real thick glossy look that comes from a great varnish job but the ease of applications and the great look more than make up for that.

I know it's not their "gloss" product, but after 5 coats, it's plenty glossy for me!

Great look, less work than varnish
by Catherine from Jarratt, Virginia on May 13, 2013
Having our boat stay in Virginia or points south throughout its life, the sun is intense and the wood needs good protections. However, there is enough exterior wood, that applying endless coats of varnish would be wearying. With Cetol, a single maintenance coat is enough to keep the wood looking great year after year. And the Natural Teak is much better at letting the wood's grain show through than the Cetol Marine Light that we used before. We've used Cetol for 7 years now, and Natural Teak for 4 years. I'm a firm believer in this product.

Q:
How many coats of natural before how many coats of clear?
A:
You will put on 3 coats of natural and then 2 coats of clear.

Q:
Do you handle the Sikkens Primer for this product?
A:
No, we do not currently have anything in our inventory involving Sikkens Primer.

Q:
I am refinishing my front door and want a satin varnish type finish. Will this product work for me? Can it easily be sprayed or shoud it be brushed on?
A:
This will work as long as the door is above any water line which is probably the case. You will need to brush it on. Practical coverage is 360 square feet per gallon.
