2007 Challenger Boats Challenger 720 Description
The Challenger 720 Hard Top shares the raked stem of the other Challenger models, a stylish entrance that ends well below the water, giving them a pronounced forefoot for ease of ride in a seaway. The 2.45 beam is carried well forward of the cockpit coaming which also eases the boats motion and the variant dead rise flows into a moderate 18.5° vee at the transom. The 720 HT Offshore has a build quality which is certainly up to commercial specs. The hull, deck and cabins are glued together with composite Plexus glue, then screwed and fibreglassed. The 720 HT also has the finish and specifications for a general purpose family boat with enough horsepower to tow a hefty skier out of the hole, ample cockpit space for a fishing team and that hard top for when it blows up rough. It's easy to name a boat 'Offshore' but this one is built to handle the rugged environment out there. The cabin's upholstered squabs can be turned into a double vee berth with the addition of an insert but there is also room for a marine flush toilet underneath which is an optional extra. A 510mm square Weaver tinted acrylic hatch provides light and access. Large moulded footrests topped with a non-skid pattern are put in just the right place below the two vinyl padded bucket seats, all the controls fall comfortably to hand and, inside the hard top at speed, the loudest noise is a barely noticeable background whine from the boat's hydraulic steering pump. Stowage room abounds, under the coaming, in big bins under the swivel seats and in glove compartments up forward. The 720 is designed by people who use their boats regularly and know what is needed. The 720 HT also comes with carpet on all the floor surfaces and on the cabin and cockpit walls. Colour coordinated upholstered trim panels add a touch of padding at the proper places in the cabin and cockpit and there are no sharp corners for barking shins or stubbing toes. A freedom winch looks after the anchor handling work and there are also stainless handrails for added security on the side decks and forward of the cockpit. The boat tracks well, rides well, is quiet, predictable and looks good. Tossing the boat around it is almost impossible to make the propeller lose grip and she accelerates well out of the sharpest turns. The 720 is well mannered enough to make any operator look like they knew what they were doing.2007 Challenger Boats Challenger 720 Specifications
