New 2008 Correct Craft Nautique
Ski Nautique: Superior Quality And Construction
On the surface, there’s not a lot of difference in how most boats are built. They are made of gelcoat, fiberglass and resin. However, when you look closely, there are subtle differences that have a significant impact when you are using your boat and when it comes to resale value. Here are a few things that make the Ski Nautique Difference.
GELCOAT.
Boats are essentially built from the outside in. That means that the boat’s glistening exterior is actually the first thing that goes into the boat mold. Correct Craft sprays low emission (more environmentally friendly) vinylester gelcoat for superior gloss and cosmetic longevity. Below the waterline, our gelcoat is 25 mils versus 21 mils above the waterline, so that you have ample gelcoat for removal of nicks or scratches your hull bottom may endure during launching or beaching your sport boat.
STRINGER SYSTEM.
The stringer system is the backbone of the tow boat. Correct Craft boats foam filled stringer systems are customized per sport boat model to provide optimum lateral and longitudinal support. Because they are foam filled, they also provide sound and vibration absorption and flotation. The tow boat stringers are sprayed with resin and encapsulated with woven roving and biaxial fiberglass to ensure that they provide the appropriate support and become an integral part of the sport boat hull.
FLOTATION FOAM.
After the stringers are installed, Ski Nautique performs open molded foaming of all unused cavities in the hull before the deck is attached. This process allows visual inspection and ensures that there are no air voids within the foam. Other sport boat manufacturers blindly inject foam after the deck is installed which can lead to air voids inside the hull. In addition to meeting or exceeding all NMMA and USCG flotation requirements, Ski Nautique’s comprehensive use of foam in all our pro sport boats and tow boats also provides noise and vibration absorption.
UPHOLSTERY.
Correct Craft boats custom makes its tow boat interiors using extra thick 34-ounce marine grade vinyl with a special stain resistant topcoat to help it resist scuffs, pen marks and other hazards that can permanently mar your interior. The foam beneath the vinyl is a high-density biocide-treated foam that inhibits mold and mildew so that your sport boat’s interior stays looking great longer. Even the thread we use features a UV inhibitor so seams last longer. Countless days on the water can be rough on material. That’s why we use the best.
WATER TEST.
Each and every Ski Nautique is water tested at the Correct Craft factory before it is shipped to its awaiting owner. Rigorous on-water testing enables us to ensure that all systems are working properly on your tow boat and that the handling of the boat lives up to the company’s expectations...and yours.
83 YEARS OF UNPARALLELED QUALITY AND INNOVATION FROM SKI NAUTIQUE
HISTORY HAS BEEN OUR BUILDING BLOCK
In the history of any major industry, one name stands out as the driving force behind its very existence. In the water sports industry of ski boats and wakeboard boats, that name is Walter C. Meloon, Florida water sports enthusiast and the founder of Correct Craft. In 1925, when “W.C.” built his very first runabout, it was more than a handcrafted boat. It was 14 feet of American ingenuity. Over the next 83 years, Correct Craft built a reputation in the water sports industry as the world’s leading towboats with countless innovations and industry milestones, including the first tournament inboard ski boat, the first wakeboard boat and the first true “crossover” boat. Today, the family-owned company lives and works by the same philosophy first established by its founder: build the absolute best, world-class towboats and build them to the “Glory of God.”
NOBODY SWEATS THE DETAILS LIKE SKI NAUTIQUE
Being highest in customer satisfaction with our boats is our top priority. The pride we take in building high quality boats is evident in our new world-class manufacturing facility. We joyfully welcome our customers to come visit us and see the attention to detail that goes into each and every boat.
INDUSTRY FIRSTS ARE WHAT KEEP US AT THE FOREFRONT
MOVING THE INDUSTRY FORWARD IS WHAT WE DO BEST
Ski Nautique is synonymous with core competitive waterskiing and wakeboarding. Why? One word: innovation. Our list of industry firsts hasn’t just advanced water sports, it revolutionized them. And in 2008, innovation keeps Ski Nautique’s way out in front.
Hydro-Gate
Ski Nautique boats put you in control of the wake using our patented Hydro-Gate™ system. The gate itself is a stainless steel plate that controls the flow of water out of the dispersion tunnel. The system’s exclusive SPORTSHIFT™ lets you change the gate’s position, controlling wake size and shape right from the cockpit, matching the needs and skill levels of individual skiers and wakeboarders.
Zero-Off Speed Control System
Another year, another innovation. For 2008, Correct Craft introduces the most advanced and high-tech speed control system in the industry. It’s called Zero-Off, a GPS-based system that maintains preset speeds with incredible accuracy and is only available on a Nautique. Our Elite Slalom System eliminates the need for magnets and sensors, while our Wakeboard Cruise uses a simple interface with no adjustments required.
Flight Control Tower (FCT)®
The most distinguishing feature of a wakeboard boat is the tower. And Correct Craft invented it. Back in 1997, the Air Nautique - our very first dedicated wakeboard boat - featured our revolutionary and patented Flight Control Tower®. It brought the sport of wakeboarding to new heights, and is still the sport’s best design.
THE DIFFERENCE IS MORE THAN SKIN DEEP
CUSTOMER SATISFACTION STARTS WITH QUALITY CONSTRUCTION
Imitation may be the sincerest form of flattery, but if another manufacturer tries to sell you a towboat by saying “It’s built just like a Ski Nautique,” walk out the door. No one builds a boat like Ski Nautique’s but Correct Craft. Others have tried to copy our ski and wakeboard boats but so far they haven’t even come close. Ask a Ski Nautique dealer. Ask the many tournament pros who compete behind our boats. Or simply ask another Ski Nautique owner. They’ll tell you the Ski Nautique difference is clear, in performance, wake, handling, reliability, durability and overall customer satisfaction. If other manufacturers want to build less than the absolute best towboat, we’re not going to argue with them. Apparently, they don’t think you need a boat this good. At Ski Nautique, we do.
Mold Total Productive Maintenance Program
Ski Nautique’s have aggressive daily mold preparation and maintenance programs. Highly skilled craftsmen ensure the finish of each boat is of Class A Quality. We sweat the smallest details in our molds so you don’t have to on your boat.
Hull Taping Operation
The multi-color hulls are only made possible due to the experience and techniques that we have perfected in our mold preparation and gel coating processes.
Lamination Skin Coat
Ski Nautique’s have highly skilled craftsmen that meticulously apply a critical skin coat prior to beginning the bulk lamination process. The process controls are scrutinized daily to ensure our boats are second-to-none for our customers.
Stringer System
Working with our key supplier of stringer systems we have developed fixtures and tools to ensure each stringer is installed and glassed in the same way day in and day out with precision and accuracy only found in a boat manufactured by Ski Nautique.
