It all began in the Clarkston, Washington, shop of legendary boatbuilder Ernie Duckworth in the late 1960’s as he began building a couple of rugged welded aluminum jet boats for running the demanding whitewater of the nearby Snake River Hells Canyon. His rugged designs soon caught the eye of fellow boaters, and the Duckworth boats brand was soon developing its legendary loyal following.


Today, Duckworth boat Works, Inc. ("DBW") manufactures and distributes through independent marine dealers Duckworth boats brand welded aluminum fishing, sport and commercial boats. Duckworth boats include a complete line of 17-24 foot inboard jet, outboard, sterndrive and specialty watercraft for shallow-draft river running and deep-V bluewater use, with a full range of fit and finish options. Over 4,000 Duckworth boats have been produced during the last 40 years, providing owners the ultimate in performance, versatility, comfort and appeal. DBW offers repair and refurbishment to restore old and damaged Duckworth boats to almost new factory condition.


Ernie Duckworth started building aluminum boats nearly 40 years ago with the goal of producing the best boat that floats. It’s pretty simple, really. History

On February 2, 1998, DBW completed the acquisition of the principal manufacturing assets, designs, and rights for the production of Duckworth boats. Committed to the ongoing development of Duckworth boats, DBW has focused its efforts on creating a management, production, distribution and financial foundation for significant expansion of Duckworth boats production capacity and market presence. In September 2000, the owners of Duckworth boat Works and Weldcraft Marine Industries, Inc. combined their efforts with the creation of Renaissance Marine Group, Inc. ("RMG"). RMG now operates a combined manufacturing operation in Clarkston, producing both Duckworth boats and Weldcraft branded boats built to the specific designs and demands of each brand. Duckworth boats, its dealers and customers benefit greatly from the combined buying power, production capabilities, and enhanced management teams offered by RMG.


The Duckworth boats brand is consistently recognized as the top-of-the-line welded aluminum boat in the Pacific Northwest. One of the most common comparisons made by competitors’ salespeople is that "we are as good as a Duckworth boat, but we just don’t make them look as nice." Duckworth boats is the measure of quality, ruggedness, performance and curb appeal in the welded aluminum industry.


Our Warranty

Our welded aluminum hulls are warranted in writing against structural defects in material or workmanship for as long as the original purchaser owns the boat.
