E.Z. Steer Auxiliary Outboard Steering Systems
 
  • The only self-adjusting steering system to attach two outboards or a stern drive to an auxiliary.
  • There is no need to disconnect the rod to independently raise or lower either unit.
  • There are no holes to drill in any engine for installation and all hardware supplied is stainless steel.
  • Brackets are stainless steel dipped in black vinyl to prevent scratching the engines.
  • Quick connectors are brass with stainless steel balls and spring.
  • The self-adjusting rod is stainless steel with brass and "Dupont Delrin®" ball joints, which easily attach to the quick connectors.

    The rod consists of 2 stainless steel tubes. Insert inner, grooved tube, into the outer, smooth tube with a twisting motion. Extend / contract the rod to approximate length. Attach 1 end of the rod to the main unit bracket pushing the quick connector’s moveable collar down, inserting the end of the ball joint into the quick connector, and releasing the collar. The end should now be held securely in place. Repeat for other end. Reverse order to remove rod. Check for tension. The rod is pre-set to approximately 18-20 lbs. of pressure and should adjust to compensate for this position. Do not oil / grease the rod, as it will gum up the détentes and cause damage to inner rod. Dètente System


    Restrictor Cord Needed on Some 4-Stroke Applications: If the auxiliary is being tipped up and after off setting the E.Z. Steer bracket towards the main engine, you are still having a problem of it locking over away from the main engine, you will need a restrictor cord. Contact MarineTech customer service.

Product not as advertised by Philip - Whitehorse, YukonJune 30, 2012
I ordered this unit for my Honda outboards, the description indicated it was for and "OB to OB" application but it didn't indicated it would NOT work for Honda outboards. I contacted customer support by phone and spoke to a lady named Meagan who indicated she would be back to me later that day, it has been 5 days now and not returned phone call. I have now started a return process on-line and lets see how long that will take, at this point I am waiting to see how the return process progress to determine if I will order anything again from iboats.com.
