Engine flooding is caused when pressurized fuel reaches the engine through the fuel lines. Flooding could hamper the engine’s functionality. The Attwood EPA Certified Fuel Demand Valve is designed to be used with portable fuel systems, and helps prevent engine flooding. It also prevents the problem of fuel spraying while connecting and disconnecting engine fittings.

  • Installs between fuel tank and primer bulb/fuel pump
  • Prevents engine flooding
  • Prevents fuel spray when connecting and disconnecting engine fittings

This fuel valve installs between the fuel tank and the primer bulb/fuel pump. It is the ideal solution to control high pressure fuel lines and is a must-have for tanks with EPA regulatory certification.

Features of Attwood EPA Certified Fuel Demand Valve

  • Prevents engine flooding
  • Eliminates fuel spray while connecting and disconnecting fittings
  • Prevents fuel spill from the pressurized fuel tanks
  • Easily installs between fuel tank and primer bulb/fuel pump
  • Compatible with ethanol fuel
  • Ideal for above-deck use

Great addition to upgraded fuel systems!
by Scott from Mexico, New York on July 24, 2014
Completely upgraded my fuel tanks and lines to handle modern ethanol fuel, and this little gem was the finishing touch. Prevents fuel under pressure from being forced out of your new EPA compliant fuel tank (modern fuel tanks must hold at least 5 psi to prevent fuel vapor loss) and into your carb bowl, flooding your engine while it sits and isn't running. Only allows fuel to flow to engine if engine demands it (suction from engine fuel pump, or primer bulb). Easy install, cut fuel line 6" upstream from tank fitting (installs between tank fitting and primer bulb, primer bulb suction causes FDV to allow fuel to flow from tank),slide a clamp over each end of your fuel line, push fuel line onto each barb (pay attention to fuel flow direction arrow on valve!) tighten clamps and your done! 10 minute job tops. I can say this much, my engine did not flood and started easily over the course of an afternoon fishing on Lake Ontario in 90 degree summer sun.

Worked as advertised.
by Joseph from Porter, Indiana on July 07, 2013
No issues. The product worked as advertised. Though I cannot say if the tanks worked without this in the fuel line.

Problem Solver
by Andrew from Brandon, Mississippi on November 26, 2012
I could not figure out why my emgine would quit until I realized it was being flooded by overpressuer from fuel tanks as the heated during the day. After installing this valve, no more problems. Easy to install.
