Mark Courts professional Walleye fisherman, Minn Kota, Humminbird Canon and Lakemaster pro staff with a helpful tip to make you a better fisherman. What we’re actually doing; we’re down here in southern Minnesota and I’m just snooping around playing with some of the new technology. And what I’ve done is I have located a weed line and what you’ve notice over here is I’ve actually set the depth highlight to where I locate this weed line. And then what I’m going to do is I have noticed that it’s somewhere in that 8 to 9 foot range.

So what I want to do is go over here, highlight and get my cursor on the 9 foot contour line. Hit go to and you’re going to notice right up here in the left-hand side of the screen it’s going to say follow the contour. That’s what I want to do. And then you’re going to notice you get an orange arrow or an orange line and a blue line. If you look at your screen it’s going to give you two options of what direction I want to head. So I’m going to choose the orange one, arrow over and at this point in time by trolling motor has taken over. And now I can just throw out my jig. I know I’m following that weed edge and I’m targeting where those Walleyes are going to be on this opening weekend.
