Product was as described, however as other reviewers had reported, I did Have 1 that the plastic broke off while inserting in floor hole. Thanks to another poster, I went to Home Depot and purchased a similar product and used that products plastic on the stainless one. Worked great.

Out of the package of 6, I think I had 2 that installed correctly. The tabs that hold the stainless steel bar in place kept breaking off. One was even broken before I took it from the package. You'd think they'd be built as durable as zip ties, but they're not.

by Peter from Boulder, Colorado on April 17, 2016
These toggle bolt anchors solve the very sticky problem of mounting items to a boat deck when you don't have access to the bottom of the deck - I used them for mounting a trolling motor to the front of an aluminum bass boat. Their design works well and I got the trolling motor mount attached. However the quality control on the plastic parts is pretty lousy. On about half the bolts I used, the plastic was either unusable or it failed and the toggle fell into the boat, requiring me to order a second set to complete my project. So I'd give this product 5 stars for design, about 1.5 stars for execution.

But a little expensive, but I guess a speciality item would cost more!

Once the Toggle is in place it is great. The nylon strips could be a little stronger as the tend to break before the toggle is secure. This is my second set. The first ones have been in use for about 3 years in a sal er environment and are still holding strong. All in all a very good product.

These work great. My only complaint is they are too pricy for what you get.

Full StarFull StarFull StarFull StarEmpty StarEasy to use
by Lewis from Jefferson City, Missouri on November 07, 2011
I used a six pack of these to add another pedestal base to a boat with a 1/2 inch plywood floor. I had installed other bases before putting the floor in, but these seemed like the best option for installing once the floor was riveted in. One cautionary note: if there is flotation foam all the way up to the underside of the floor, you need to remove it to about an inch below the surface and about an inch in diameter. This will give you space to swivel the toggles flush with the underside of the floor. Once I figured that out, installation was a breeze. I chucked a hex key (L-shaped) with the long leg in a drill, inserted the short leg in the hole, and chewed the foam up below the hole so I could install the toggles. Plenty of polyurethane adhesive (3M 5200 or equivalent) completed the installation. I haven't yet put it to a stress test, but I just can't see the toggles pulling through the plywood.

by Thad from Shrezeport, Louisiana on June 30, 2011
These anchors worked very well and were easy to use. A well designed product. I don't think the seat I used them on will ever move again. My only complaint is the price. I think the price is too high because it's a "marine" product. But I wasn't able to find another alternative so I guess you have to pay the price.

Full StarEmpty StarEmpty StarEmpty StarEmpty StarNot Happy
by John from Flower Mound, Texas on May 03, 2015
Theory is great, but the only stainless piece is the toggle. The nylon straps that extend the toggle below the surface are made of very brittle nylon a cd the break easily. I needed to order 2 extra and they broke too. I was lucky to be able to redrill the hole to 5/8" and get the toggle with needle nose pliers. I then went to Home Depot and bought the same toggle (steel) and removed the nylon straps and put them on my SS toggle. It worked. But an easy job made difficult by cheap plastic on a little piece of stainless.

Full StarFull StarFull StarFull StarFull StarStainless steel toggle bolt anchor
by Wayne from New Harmony, Indiana on May 11, 2013
Used these to anchor some Garelick bases for installation of Garelick slider/swivels for an upgrade to boat seats. These are kind of pricey for " just bolt anchors " but they are very slick in how they allow you to install them in a hole and even pull the back out and nice that they stay there if you remove the bolt later on instead of falling down inside. Again,I think they are overpriced, but you'll forget soon after you use them!
