  • iboats reviews Grand Banks Yachts: Manufacturers of Grand Bank Motor Yachts.

Grand Banks Yachts started business as American Marine, founded in 1956 by the Robert J Newton family. Robert with his sons, in Hong Kong were operating a custom boat building business making motor yachts and sailboats, to the sketches of famous designers of the day. After Kenneth Smith accepted a contract to design a yacht for them in 1962, the lines of his design motivated the Newton's to leave custom yacht lines for the new line of crafts that evolved into the name of Grand Banks.

Today's yacht designs are very recognizable on the world scene as Grand Bank Yachts line of watercrafts. The Heritage Series yachts extend the cruising capacity with its v-drive power system for the family who wants more time of the water. With trawler styling with top deck sunbathing and stateroom living all the boating comforts come in to play. In 1993, the lobster boat design line called Eastbay Series came into being and offered a high profile look that spans the ages with teak toe rails and twin diesels providing the power and the blue distinctive hull color wrapped with a gold strip.

The next step up came in 2001 when boat buyers wanted the more extravagant styling without giving up any of the fine detailed quality Grand Banks produced that they so enjoyed. Grand Banks created the Aleution Series with the pilot-housed yachts launching a new level of style with the high browed elegance built on the same sea mastery evident in all the Grand Bank yachts. State of the art construction with the best quality materials and products available to produce a exceptional yacht that supreme boaters are looking for, with the iconic name and reputation of Grand Banks Yachts.
