Humminbird HDR 650 In-Dash Depth Gauge with Transom-Mount Transducer

This product works as stated. I followed the test procedures for epoxy mounting the transducer to the inside of the haul on my 20' fiberglass Bayliner. It appears to be be very accurate. This is a very nice product at a very cheap price!!!

Had to replace my old depth gauge do screen black out. Read all the reviews on I-Boat about this one. Delivery was in three day of ordering. Installation took the better part of three hours to do it nice and neat and the right way. Instructions a very easy to understand. Mounted in the dash and looks great, it takes up very little room which is good when you have a small 17.5 Bayliner. There isn't much dash space. It measured precisely and the alarm for shallow works perfect. I would recommend that when installing the alarm, point it away from direct line with people as it is very loud but in a good way. I am very pleased with product. Shipping was fast and on schedule. Mounting transducer was little scary since I've never installed one before. Instructions warn about air bubbles in epoxy. Used walmart brand epoxy and could not avoid air bubbles from mixing. Works great! Easy in-dash install too. Only problem or dislike I have with product (and why I didn't rate 5) is every time I start the boat or switch power on, the HDR 600 beeps continuously until I hit one of the menu buttons. It may be just a reread of manual to have it not beep by default, but it's extremely annoying when launching or starting boat.

Contrary to what your people told us, your HDR 650 mounted in the bottom of an all aluminum boat works perfectly. I think you need to use larger gage 12V power wires, the ones now used are just too delicate. Bobby J.
