Humminbird® Digital Depth Gauges give you instant, reliable depth readings even at speeds of up to 70 mph, and can alert you to both deep and shallow water. Installation in any existing 2-1/8" opening is easy, and they wire to the ignition to automatically turn on. We didn't stop there: the display reads in feet, meters or fathoms, and you can pick a color to compliment your boat's gauges. The customizable gauge comes with 2 face plates and 3 trim rings included. 600 ft depth, 200kHz operating frequency.

Excellent product
by Larry from Spring Lake, Michigan on August 25, 2013
This depth finder is excellent and has all the parts you need to customize it for the color of your instruments. You only need to wire this to the 12v system, and the rest is plug and play. I mounted the sensor in the hull, not on the transom, and while the web site and exterior packaging only refers to "transom mounting", the instructions inside do address the in hull mounting.

Buy It!
by Fred from Elkhart, Indiana on September 13, 2012
This product works as stated. I followed the test procedures for epoxy mounting the transducer to the inside of the haul on my 20' fiberglass Bayliner. It appears to be be very accurate. This is a very nice product at a very cheap price!!!

simple to use, accurate, and easy to install
by Mark from Beloit, Wisconsin on July 04, 2012
Had to replace my old depth gauge do screen black out. Read all the reviews on I-Boat about this one. Delivery was in three day of ordering. Installation took the better part of three hours to do it nice and neat and the right way. Instructions a very easy to understand. Mounted in the dash and looks great, it takes up very little room which is good when you have a small 17.5 Bayliner. There isn't much dash space. It measured precisely and the alarm for shallow works perfect. I would recommend that when installing the alarm, point it away from direct line with people as it is very loud but in a good way. It gets your attention for sure. Thanks I-Boats for the best price on a great product

Very Pleased.....
by Edwin from Porter, Texas on June 25, 2012
I am very pleased with product. Shipping was fast and on schedule. Mounting transducer was little scary since I've never installed one before. Instructions warn about air bubbles in epoxy. Used walmart brand epoxy and could not avoid air bubbles from mixing. Works great! Easy in-dash install too. Only problem or dislike I have with product (and why I didn't rate 5) is every time I start the boat or switch power on, the HDR 600 beeps continuously until I hit one of the menu buttons. It may be just a reread of manual to have it not beep by default, but it's extremely annoying when launching or starting boat.

Bottom mount in an aluminum air boat
by Bobby from Houston, Texas on August 26, 2011
Contrary to what your people told us, your HDR 650 mounted in the bottom of an all aluminum boat works perfectly. I think you need to use larger gage 12V power wires, the ones now used are just too delicate. Bobby J.

Works perfect. Loud alarm and remebers settings.
by David from Bedford, Massachusetts on August 09, 2011
The gauge works perfect. I like the 2 face plates (white black) and 3 trim rings. I was able to use a black trim ring and white face to match my existing gauges. Shallow and Deep alarms settings remembered which is key. The alarm is nice and loud so you can hear it above the motor and stereo. High speed operation and rough water operation and I have had no problems with everything working.

Great Product
by Michael from Moses Lake, Washington on June 05, 2011
I have had the Humminbird HDR 650 for about 2 weeks now and I love it. Installation was easy just followed the instructions in the book. It says to use a 2-1/8" hole saw for the gauge cutout I would recommend using a 2 inch instead as the 2-1/8 was almost too big. I routed all my cables and wires and hooked the display unit up to the key switch. I epoxied the transducer in the hull in the bilge area of my boat. I did a test run first like is says in the instructions and it worked perfect with only a little moving around to find the sweat spot (I put it about 1/2 inch up from the keel line in the bilge area. I used a gallon size zip lock bag filled with sand to hold the transducer in place and filled up the bilge area with water until it covered the transducer completely and then ran it for about an hour in various modes to test performance. Once I got home I cleaned everything up let the boat dry out and then got some marine slow cure epoxy, built a dam out of plexi-glass to hold the epoxy in place while it cured. I just took a 1/4 inch piece of plexi-glass and cut it out in the shape of the transducer about a 1/4 inch too big and taped it to the bottom of the boat. I then filled it up with epoxy and put a thin layer over the bottom of the transducer and pressed it into place. Let it dry for a couple days and then tried it out again and it works great. The display is nice and it can be seen in direct sunlight which is good. The alarm function is also nice too and it is plenty loud almost too loud, but it can be muted so its a good warning when getting into shallow water. Which is nice where I am at because the lake can become pretty cloudy in some areas and you cant see the bottom in water deeper than about 2 feet. Forwards, backwards, sharp turns, and up to 40mph and it tracks nice and no loss of signal. Overall I am very please and it is a nice addition to my boat. Mike
