Worked on 1982 evinrude 70 hp
by Brent from Saugatuck, Michigan on August 14, 2016
Worked on 1982 evinrude 70 hp. The old one was leaking brown goo and ohmed out with a short. Put the new one in and measured voltage on the battery: boat not running with a full charge was 12.93vdc, boat RUNNING now reads up to 15vdc (the voltage creeps up as you apply throttle) -it's trickle charging the battery!

TACH NOT WORKING
by Capt. from Weslaco, Texas on August 09, 2010
I wanted current boat owners to know that if your tach goes from 1000 rpm to 1500 rpm on a plane and then back to 0 rpm's , it is not your tach. I was misdiagnosed at a dealership and still had to pay labor...very costly for a mistake they made. You would think that a dealer would know better. Anyway it is your regulator rectifier that needs to replaced. It's ok to pay for something that is being done correctly. This eliminates back trips to the dealer.

Great price and fast shipping!
by James from Rock Hill, South Carolina on August 29, 2012
No need to search anywhere else. The price was very good and the shipping was fast. I ordered it on Monday and was up and running by the weekend. I am working on my second boat re-hab and iboats has been a blessing with its wide selection of parts and excellent forum.
