This is a combination unit with GPS fish finder and is a great idea except it doesn't work very well. The GPS section is ok except it updates very slowly compared to my other GPS units being used at the same time. The fish finder so far has proved to be worthless. It produces nothing like the pictures show in the marketing material nor on the built in simulator. It shows the top and it shows the bottom but nothing in between except blackness. There is no gain or sensitivity adjustment. It does read the depth correctly compard to my other depth finder on the boat but tells way less about the water column than my 28 year old greyscale unit. I spoke with Lowrance customer service after installing and testing it but it was apparent they were reading from a recipe book and did not have a clue what to do. Finally they decided it must be a defective transducer and said they would FEDEX me another. That was over a week ago. I am hopeful they are right and when it shows up it will solve the blackness issue but I did not get a good feeling about the whole experience with them on the phone. I'll update this post after I try the transducer and maybe I'll find I really like the unit(there are some great things about it, performance just hasn't been one of them). I hope so as according to iboats, it's not returnable.
