New 2014 Lund Boats
Leading the industry is a role that we take very seriously at Lund Boat Company. Its what pushes us to create better boats that provide you with more pleasure and value. Its what drives us to innovate new ideas that make boating more enjoyable and fishing more productive. If you look at the features introduced in our industry over the last several decades, youre going to see that the vast majority of meaningful advances have been developed in New York Mills, Minnesota, at the Lund boat plant. Thats where weve been for more than a half century, and thats where were going to continue to develop the best boats you can buy.
And its going to be easier now thanks to the great resources and technological advantages were already receiving from our new parent company, Brunswick Corporation. We all know about the great Brunswick name, so it should come as no surprise that Brunswick is a Fortune 500 Company with a long history of remarkable success. Its also important to know that Brunswick is one of the most influential corporations in the marine industry, and so the fit with Lund boats could not be better.
For you that means better boating, because we are in our strongest position ever to build the boats you expect from the industry leader. As you look through this catalog, just imagine all the great times ahead in your new Lund boat and then please talk to one of our Lund boat dealers about how we can make it happen.
The Lund Boats Story
It had been nearly six decades since the first Lund boats were assembled in New York Mills by G. Howard Lund, and over the past decades Lund boats has grown into the premier fishing boat company in America.
In 1948 Howard built his first aluminum duck boat, which took about a week to build. The boat was on top of the family car along highway 10, and this unintentional advertising brought a boat salesman from Inland Marine Corporation to his doorstep. He inquired where he could get a boat like that. Howard explained that he had built it himself, and that he was willing to build more. The salesman put in an order for 50 boats, and with that Lund Boats was created.
Its not just one thing that makes Lund fishing boats better, its everything!
The double riveting. The I-beam construction. The IPS hull. If youve done any research into aluminum boats, then you know these are the things that first come to mind when you think about what separates Lund fishing boats from all others. But the closer you look, the more reasons youll find to buy Lund boats:
Unmatched fit and finish, from carpet installation to vinyl-wrapping.
Boatings finest hardware, with heavy-duty durability and special features like recessed cleats.
Flush-mount hinges hidden on the inside and out of sight on livewells and storage compartments.
Fully carpeted and finished compartment doors - you wont see any unsightly surfaces on Lund boats.
Brilliant I-beam construction, with longitudinal and transverse I-beams tied together for the ultimate in strength and rigidity.
Optimization of aluminum performance, using only marine-grade 5052 H34 aluminum.
Injected foam floatation in hull cavities exceeds Coast Guard regulations and quiets the ride.
The industrys finest, most durable marine-grade decks and floors - reinforced for extra stability.
