2012 Mako Boats Pro 17 Skiff CC Description

MAKO has combined 45 years of experience crafting the most rugged fishing boats on the water with a next generation hull design to create the Pro 17 Skiff CC.
With the Advanced Inverted V (AIV) hull design, wide beam and foam-filled construction, it provides a smooth, dry ride and stable platform through rougher conditions. And, the Pro 17 Skiff CC will do it all while carrying larger loads with power from a smaller-horsepower engine.
Thanks to the Advanced Inverted V (AIV) hull, this boat provides a great dry, smooth ride through chop, as well as amazing load carrying abilities. All while being powered with smaller, more efficient outboard engines!
Inside, the Pro 17 Skiff CC also provides features for a full day of angling, including a baitwell, rod holders, casting decks and wide-open casting spaces!
All riding on a custom-fit trailer, and all at an industry-leading value price!

I purchased this boat with the 60HP Mercury the first of June 2013 and have used it about 4 times. The boat has a very good ride and an impressive 34 mp top speed. The boat sits very flat, even on plane. The problem is the boat sits so flat that water accumulates on the floor and will not drain to the rear of the boat unless you add a partner or start to move to raise bow. Just enough water to be irritating and keep your shoes wet. The wench bracket on the all aluminum trailer has already cracked. The prop "slips" on the hole shot and in tight turns. I will be making an appointment with Bass Pro Shops ( as much as I hate dealing with them) this week to correct these issues. All in all, I love this boat. It fishes really good in salt and fresh water. Lots of room and very comfortable. I added a pedestal seat to the front deck at purchase and plan to add one to the rear deck. I added additional rod holders to the sides of the boats interior. Installed a Ray Marine Dragonfly and an additional gas tank. Good buy for the money!
