Its an impeller. There is not a lot else to say. The impeller fit perfectly in each of the Merc 5L Bravo II engines in my Summerset Houseboat. I replace these every year now as I have personal experience with the alternative of both impellers disintegrating on me while out on the lake. The engines stop and things then get ugly, especially when its in a storm!!! It takes about an hour per engine and the engines run perfectly all summer. Its lots better to replace the impellers at the beginning of the season rather than the end of the last season as they stay more flexible.

im not a outboard mechanic but ive installed a few impellers. I could not get the key to fit between the impeller and the shaft. i had no problem putting the old one back in which unfortunately is what i had to do.

I have been using these impellers for six years it is the right product at the right price. The impeller maintains it pliability so well that I now change it out every other year as opposed to annually in my 1995 220VRS Matercraft.

Double check the model number on your water pump and don't just go off the engine. Seems most people are unhappy because that's what they did. You have to pull the pump off anyway... Anyway, this impeller was a perfect fit and the o-ring that came was good as well. Also love how fast iBoats ships stuff!

I have bought many of these for my 1991 bost over the years. This is the first one that has NOT included the required gasket. What do I do now that I need the gasket? I bought 2 of these to save on future shipping. Vendors should not sell parts without the required gaskets in order to have happy customers!
