Ocean Yachts 37 Billfish - Express Fisherman Boat
2009 Ocean Yachts 37 Billfish Description
Fishermen want a boat with stamina and power to hunt far offshore, with performance to match the movements of elusive fish and design features to hook and fight them. They may look back to the 1960’s as their sport’s Golden Age, when high-utility day-fishermen worked the canyons for marlin and tuna, or even the bays for stripers and blues. For all who dream of owning one of those vintage boats, we dedicate the 37 Billfish – the premiere model in an entirely new class of Ocean sportfishermen. To have simply replicated a classic gamefishing design would have denied owners of the extraordinary engineering and manufacturing innovations Ocean has – during the last 30 years – helped to advance. The 37 Billfish exploits the sophisticated hull geometries now standard on every Ocean Yacht. Twin 480 MHP Yanmar 6LY3-ETP diesels produce a wide-open throttle speed of 35 knots and a cruise speed of over 30 knots. Like other Ocean Yachts, the 37 BF has a flybridge – laid out for efficient command and convenient maneuvering. But she also incorporates a fully instrumented lower helm for the hands-on captain who wants quick access to the cockpit. She is an “all-weather” boat and – with propeller pockets that reduce draft to just 2' 6" – she's an “all-waters” boat, too. The 37 Billfish has been designed with a “quick-to-the-rod” dynamic and a bridgeboat’s high visibility and comfort. From stem to stern, she is a boat destined to win tournaments and the respect of sportfishermen. From the satin-cherry interior to the private stateroom and head, she is a boat that indulges an angler’s desire for comfort and luxury. The 37 Billfish by Ocean is the first model in an entirely new boat line whose heritage includes many of the most competitive sportfishermen built during the last 30 years. It is a boat worthy to be called by the sport’s most coveted prize … billfish!2009 Ocean Yachts 37 Billfish Specifications

2009 Ocean Yachts 37 Billfish Standard FeaturesCockpitThe cockpit is designed to accommodate the frenzy of multiple-hookups. There are a transom-mounted circulating livewell, rod holders, fresh and seawater washdowns, and two insulated fishboxes to store fish destined for the scale. Standard also are the bait-prep center with freezer, sink, fresh-water spigot, and a tackle locker. Optional offshore equipment like Rupp outriggers, a Rupp center rigger, and a refrigerated undersole fishbox can be ordered from the factory. A fighting chair can be installed by the factory or an authorized Ocean dealer or yard in the 37 BF’s ample cockpit. Helm Deck An upholstered seat tucked behind the steering station faces the U-shaped convertible dinette. An adjustable, fiberglass dinette table converts the settee into a large bunk – just the place for a tired angler to rest during the long ride in from the fishing grounds – the cockpit fishbox packed with the day’s catch. The helm deck is constructed entirely of maintenance-free fiberglass to withstand rough usage and rough weather (not to mention any diamonds in the rough who come aboard). The captain at the lower helm as well as his guests enjoy visibility to all points of the compass. Flybridge The 37 Billfish combines the “quick-to-the-rod” dynamic of an open helm deck with the visibility and comfort of a flybridge when running. Under a custom-style fiberglass hardtop with three-sided EZ2CY enclosure, her flybridge features an adjustable helmsman’s chair, a fully instrumented console, Yanmar electronic controls with Palm Beach-style handles, and hydraulic steering. Comfortable cushioned lounge seats bracket the console. Popular bridge options include an aft enclosure, a recessed overhead teaser reel box, and ventilating hatches in the hardtop.
