It works for my 2 German cars
by Daniel from Texarkana, Texas on June 20, 2013
While I'm not really into boats, I got the larger 15 liter version to use on oil changes for both my 2012 Mercedes C250 2004 Chrysler Crossfire (which is essentially a Mercedes). The German's prefer extract oil rather than drain from the bottom and that works well for me because I really didn't wanna get under these cars anyway. These cars hold lots of Mobile one oil (like 8.5 qts) so I needed the larger one to ensure it could hold it all. Both cars were begging for oil changes so I got to really test out the unit before giving a review of how it went. It came with 3 sections of tubing and the largest diameter one goes on the unit and the 2 smaller diameter ones go after that. I only needed one smaller diameter for what I was doing. With MB cars, you just extract it out of the dipstick tube and it would only take maybe 15 or so pumps to get it really moving, with maybe a few more as it went to get all the oil out of each car. Since it was my first (self done) oil change, I later found that I needed to extract a bit of fresh oil out as I went slightly higher than I really needed to on the dipstick marks. While pulling a bit out and then checking the level, I realized it's a good idea to hang the tube after using it so the gravity would continue to drain into the bottle even after it looked like it was pretty much clear. When you are finished pulling fluid, you just disconnect the tube valve thing and pour it into whatever container you would like and bring it to the recycle place. I used Wal-Mart because that's where I buy the special oil these cars take. I can't think of any cons to this product except it was a little pricey in my opinion, but if it last many years then what the heck. Also the cool looking Panther sticker doesn't stay attached to the bottle on mine. I think that would be because the bottle has a slightly slick feel that would be hard to stick anything to. The answer on the sticker would be to just make one that goes all the way around the bottle and sticks to itself so it won't come unstuck. Get one of these if you have the need to extract any fluid that isn't corrosive or explosive. I sure dig mine.
