It is very sharp and easily cuts through ropes and tie down straps, as I found out the hard way. This applies to both silver and purple Yamaha eyes, and also the Kawasaki version and colors. However, be aware that the overall depth of the threaded tube is too long to accept the Yamaha quick tie-down pins. I suppose you can trim some of the tubing off, but there is another bow eye on the market that will accept the pins, however, it has a flat lip (rim) at the top as opposed to the raised lip like this one. I sent you an e-mail to this effect approx. 10 days ago and never received a reply. Yet, you continue to ask for my survey opinion. Well, you got it--two thumbs down for both of my incorrectly colored bow eyes. Either send me the correct color or I'll just spread the poor word about your company to everyone I know.
