New 2009 Parker Boats
About Parker boats
Parker boats has been building quality boats since the late 1960s. However, it has never been our intention to become an industry giant, but rather to build boats for that portion of the market which can recognize the important qualities in boats dictated by common sense and time-tested design features. This straightforward approach, combined with an uncompromising dedication to the highest quality construction practices, has earned the entire Parker boats line the reputation of simplicity, strength, and seaworthiness. Every employee at Parker boats has vested interest in seeing that each boat we ship represents our best effort.
Today, Parker boats operates in a modern, state-of-the-art 200,000 square foot production facility that compares with the finest in the industry. Parker boats takes pride in the fact that our in-house capabilities for the entire boat-building process, from the initial design and tooling, through constructing, assembly, testing and shipping, are controlled by some of the toughest standards in the industry... our own. All Parker boats are hand-laid from the finest roll stocks and resins available. Deck hardware is thru-bolted stainless steel with backing plates. No detail is too small to be considered un-important.
Parker boats are proudly serving in commercial, governmental agency, recreational and high-tech sportfishing use around the world. To experience the pure genuine pleasure that comes from handling a fine quality boat, visit the Parker boats dealer in your area.
Mold Maintenance
At Parker boats, there is no mass-production mentality. We build boats for people who seek maximum value without spending a fortune. Boats that perform dependably, without constant attention and maintenance. Boats whose wide-flared bows and classic lines are pleasing to the eye. Boats that are fulfilling and rewarding to own and use. Overbuilt and underpriced quality is what we're known for. If we are building the type of boat you have been looking for, then, by all means, welcome aboard.
Gelcoat Booth
In the temperature-controlled environment of the gel booth highly trained technicians apply high quality gel coat to the mold. This process ensures that each Parker boat will have a bright, smooth, glossy finish that will look great for many years in a harsh saltwater environment.
Lamination
After the molds are gel-coated comes the most crucial phase of the lamination process called the "skin-out”. This step involves hand-rolling the first layer or laminate of fiberglass into the mold. This step is given great attention, as this is the foundation for all following laminates. It's standard practice for a technician with a highly trained eye to inspect every skin-out, because a flaw here can mean future gel patches or delamination.
chambers in the hull are injected with two-pound density foam, which becomes a structural strengthening unit and sound dampener while providing flotation.
Pre Assembly
In the final stages, the interior of each hull is hand-sanded in the grinding booth. Each hull then returns to the gel booth for a non-glare, satin interior finish. Parker boats decks are hand-laid much like the hulls and reinforced with "Select Boat Panels." These reinforcement parts are pattern-cut with feather ground edges, bedded in fiberglass, then totally encapsulated in fiberglass.
In the pre-finish area, each fiberglass part undergoes a thorough cosmetic and structural inspection before being allowed to continue through the production line. All parts are trimmed and indexed to predetermined measurements for proper fit and ease of installation. Cutouts are made using molded splashes and precision fitted jigs with router tracks, so that every cut is accurate time after time, maintaining tight seals and watertight integrity of windows and hatches on every Parker boat. Welded stainless steel bow rails are thru-bolted onto crisp molded deck toe-rails, and navigation lights are pre-installed to complete the pre-assembly rigging and ready the parts for the final assembly process.
Assembly
In the first stage of final assembly, the hull is prepared to receive the pre-rigged deck. The finished deck is then lifted and set on the hull, much like a cap, and checked for proper fit. Then the deck is thru-bolted to the hull using stainless steel bolts and nuts. This ensures that any flex in the joint will be so minimal that the watertight gasket/caulk seal, made in the last step of installation, will not be broken or violated. A heavy-duty, three-piece extruded nylon rub rail, which is both attractive and functional, is installed with stainless steel fasteners to finish the marriage of the Parker boats hull to the deck.
Final Finish
The final touches, including installation of trim and doors, are now completed. A custom Parker boats electric panel is installed, with each circuit independently fused. Boats are equipped with Yamaha power from the factory. Finishing touches such as cushions, striping and logos are added to the boat. The boats are cleaned and thoroughly inspected before leaving the factory.
