Paws Aboard Red Lifeguard Neoprene Doggy Life Jackets

I have a German shorthair (35 lb) and a pitbull/Jack Russell mix (25 lb). Both girls measure about inches around the chest. This vest fits them both very well with some adjustment bigger and smaller. I even tried it on my 65 lb Bassett Hound just for grins. The vest does fit him, but just barely! Obviously, the next size larger would be a better choice for regular wear, but I would use this vest on him in a pinch. This vest is intended for serious use as a life preserver with plenty of foam at the chest and shoulder area to provide buoyancy. Strong velcro fasteners at the chest and along the wide mesh bellyband allow you to get the vest quickly and securely fastened on a wiggly dog. Wide nylon straps and plastic quick-release buckles ensure the vest stays on the dog, even if the velcro comes undone. The neoprene foam is soft and molds to the dog's body nicely. I have read other reviews that say the plastic dees used on dog vests like this one can break easily when used as a leash attachment. This vest does has a plastic dee sewn into the handle at the top of the vest, so word of caution to owners who have dogs who pull -- fasten the leash to your dog's regular collar or harness.
