I am quite satisfied with the light base. I purchased it to use with an Attwood pole light which I already had, and to replace a busted rail mounted light base on a deckboat I recently purchased. I had to build a base for it out of PVC in order to mount it on the rail and modify the pins slightly for the different brand pole light but it works excellently.

I bought this to replace an older Perko base that had a broken locking mechanism. This style has an insert that is oval that you turn to keep it secure. Well, it doesn't work. It's always coming loose and is a pain. The old style was much better. Don't waste your money.

Excellent quality, easy install, great operation! this is miles better than my original pole base, the installation was a breeze too even comes with a template and instructions on what size holes to drill can not be beat!
