I purchased it to use with an Attwood pole light which I already had, and to replace a busted rail mounted light base on a deckboat I recently purchased. I had to build a base for it out of PVC in order to mount it on the rail and modify the pins slightly for the different brand pole light but it works excellently. Was this review helpful? This style has an insert that is oval that you turn to keep it secure. Well, it doesn't work. It's always coming loose and is a pain. The old style was much better. Don't waste your money.
