RIPTIDE SALTWATER BOW-MOUNT MOTORS
Saltwater chews up the faint of heart and spits out the pieces. That’s why we engineer our Riptide trolling motors so incredibly tough: to give you every advantage against the nasty perils of saltwater. Riptide is simply the toughest, most corrosion-resistant trolling motor ever built — backed by the industry’s first three-year warranty.
Measure down from the mounting surface of the transom or bow to the water level*. Use this measurement and the tables below to find the appropriate shaft length.

AutoPilot™
Minn Kota’s patented AutoPilot navigation system is just what you need to spend less time steering your boat and more time catching fish. Simply put, AutoPilot keeps your pursuit of trophy fish headed in the right direction. AutoPilot (available on PowerDrive and Riptide motors) is like having a navigator in the boat, allowing you to concentrate on making that next cast rather than continuously repositioning your boat. When activated, AutoPilot takes over the steering of your boat and keeps you headed in the direction you want to travel, even under high winds or heavy chop. With AutoPilot, there’s no need to manually adjust your motor to maintain your desired heading.
AutoPilot utilizes a patented, state-of-the-art compass system that locks on to a particular heading and automatically and continuously makes adjustments to keep your boat moving in that direction. To use AutoPilot, simply point the motor head in the direction you want to travel and AutoPilot takes over from there. It’s that easy. Beyond its navigational ease and convenience, AutoPilot also helps you catch more fish. You can use AutoPilot in a variety of ways to keep you positioned in the strike zone.
To troll parallel to the shoreline, point the motor head at a distant
landmark along a parallel line to the shore. AutoPilot will mainain that
heading until you choose to change or adjust your desired line.
To troll along a current line or over a shelf or ledge, point the motor
head at a landmark in the distance. The motor will automatically pull
the boat along the desired line. Should wind or waves cause the boat
to drift, the motor will make automatic adjustments to continue to pull
the boat to the desired landmark.
AutoPilot
can be used to run “in place,” ideal for hovering
over schooling fish. Depending upon conditions, you can adjust the
speed of your motor against the wind, waves or current. The AutoPilot function
will keep your boat headed in the same direction, allowing you to hover “in
place” over a desired area.
AutoPilot can be used to repeat a productive troll. At the end of a
run, rotate the motor head 180 degrees. AutoPilot will swing the boat
completely around and take you back along the exact same course.
Maximizer™
Conventional trolling motor design (speed coil technology) delivers
a constant, steady flow of power to the motor, regardless of the speed
setting. This constant flow results in wasted power and excessive heat—both
of which reduce your time on the water and the life of your motor. And
with speed coil technology, you are limited to a pre-determined number
of speed settings. Minn Kota variable speed motors utilize our exclusive Maximizer technology
to deliver the precise amount of power needed at any speed, along with
infinitely variable speed settings. You get the ability to “dial
up” the precise speed setting you desire and your motor runs cooler
with no wasted power. By properly regulating the amount of power that
is delivered to your motor, you get up to five times longer run time
on a single charge.
