  • About Riviera Boats
  • About The Riviera Range

The pleasure boating icon that is Riviera began in 1980 in Sydney's leafy Northern Beaches suburb of Terrey Hills. The first boat to carry the now famous brand was the 38 Mk 1 flybridge cruiser. Within a year, the company moved to Queensland and, with a staff of just five people, built eight boats over the next 12 months.

In 1983 the company exported its first boat to the United States, following that two years later with an export to Europe. Riviera was on its way to becoming a global luxury boating icon.

Today Riviera employs more than 1,200 craftsmen in the largest luxury boat building complex in the Southern Hemisphere at Coomera on Queensland's Gold Coast. The company builds more than 450 pleasure boats a year and exports to 30 countries around the world. The model range includes seven Flybridge Convertibles, from 33 to 58 feet, and five Sport Cruiser models with plans for two new Sport Yachts.

The family of Riviera owners is on every boating waterway and in virtually every marina around Australia, enjoying the benefits of owning a brand that is known worldwide for quality, innovation and safety.

    Construction

Today's Rivieras are about the passion of the people who build them and that's shared by the people who own them. They are built with state-of-the-art technology and an inner drive from some of the industry's most gifted craftsmen. Come through the factory with us and discover the build integrity of Australia's most awarded motor cruisers.

    Solid fibreglass hulls

Lessons learned around our rugged coastline have ensured every Riviera is built with a strong, solid fibreglass hull. Various sections of the hull are stiffened with core mat, end grain balsa or other lightweight materials which are resin impregnated and hand-laid.

For peace of mind, there's a collision bulkhead forward and separate compartments throughout the hull.

Every hull is made of hand-laid solid fibreglass and has a unique stringer system of transverse and longitudinal bearers for strength and precise handling.

    Rigorous testing

Every boat is locked up and all openings sealed. A high velocity fan assists a high volume sprinkler to spray a fine mist over the entire boat, checking for leaks.

    World-renowned componentry

The component list of any Riviera reads like a who's who of marine technology. Premium brands respected worldwide give every Riviera international standards of performance and reliability.
