  • Many Honda outboards are made with a center cavitation plate ridge. Some Hondas will require a slight cut or bigger notch in the "yoke" area of the foil. This is necessary to give 1/2" spacing between the rear holes to be drilled and the end of the cavitation plate. Cutting a notch can easily be handled with a small saw or grinder and will not affect the durability or warranty of the SE Sport.

Replaced old hydrofoil due to the wings being bent from backing into objects. Holes lined up without having to re-drill. Used the boat 3 times with this product and have no complaints. The giant roster tail that my old one kicked up is now gone which was probably due to something not running true in the water. The motor wake is all nice and smooth now (nothing dragging to cause roster tail). The boat also now gets up on plane nicely and handles turns well without loosing water around the prop, causing the engine to rev which was an issue before. This is a well made product and sturdy in construction.

It's hard to believe this device could improve performance so much. It works exactly as advertized by cutting Plane time, improving steering at low speeds, and greatly reducing dolphin effect and buffeting in rough water. I highly recommend it if you experience any of these issues!

Installation was pretty staight forward. The use of a grinder is not necessary to fit the hydrofoil. A small round file and a flat file do the job safely without removing to much product. Performance is astounding. My 16.5 foot center console took forever to plane and needed a lot of throttle to stay on plane. Now it is on plane in seconds and I can stay on plane at much lower and comfortable speeds. I don't know if I lost any top end because I don't run haard. Porpoising is now gone. I would recommend this product. I have had doel fins on my last two boats and this product is more effective.
