this stuff is INCREDIBLE! besides the function of it...NON slip factor and water run off thanks to the troughs, this stuff has made our little boat look FANTASTIC! it looks EXACTLY like the 'color picture' in 'mats displayed on boat' pictures. except there is only ONE swim platform that has a little oval 'hydro turf' logo and not TWO as pictured which is no biggie just thought i would mention it. it was incredibly easy to install IF you follow the instructions and dont just wing it! cleaning the surfaces with rubbing alcohol made it worth the 3 extra dollars for a bottle of rubbing alcohol that i barely used half of! what these are, are actually laser cut pieces that pretty much match and go over/on top of, the roughened textured non-slip areas throughout the boat in other words, where you see in the pictures, a mat piece, more than likely there will be sandy-textured area. so, they in essence, made these mat pieces or rather, had them cut to match almost exactly, where these non-skid sections/areas presently are. this really helps with pre-placing them in order to get an idea of how to lay each piece down when you are done cleaning and ready to peel off the backing. note! if you mess up and dont get a piece aligned just right, QUCIKLY, but SLOWLY, remove the piece and re-align it as close-to-matching the underlying sandy textured area that it will be covering. once you get the 'hang' of it, it really flies. after you have each piece down and you are happy with its placement, walk on, stand on it, use a heavy roller... but do something so you are making GOOD contact over the entire area. this will greatly help the adherence of the glue backing. remember, you are not placing these pieces over a FLAT SMOOTH surface! 99% of the time it will be on top of the aforementioned sand-textured areas. there is only one or 2 small pieces or rather strips that do go onto a smooth surface up from the left most seat. to get the engine cover pieces to LOOK correct, i started with the CENTER piece and used little marker dots to get my measurements/alignments correct with respect to the pieces on either side of the center. this area was the most difficult as it is the most visible and has 3 separate pieces that, if you dont get just right, will look lop sided and 'off'. one great feature of these mats, besides the non slip and water run off, is that they also hide a great majority of the little hairline cracks in the aged gel coat on many areas that they cover, which also made the boat look 'younger' and less aged. the pieces that go where the driver sits arent 'perfect', but you'll find that out and just have to adjust the few pieces to 'work' properly and 'go' with the other pieces next to them that cover the majority of the deck. all in all. we waited a good year to save the money that we could use to finish off our boats looks and guess what? it was even cheaper to buy now than it was when we first had looked at getting this! the wait was worth it, the price was fantastic, and above all, the look is amazing! if you follow the included directions and some of my 'tips', you will be as satisfied as we are and you can be even prouder of her looks when out on the water with newer jet boat models in her same category. we also got a nice bimini... she is now ready to get back on the water where she belongs! thanks iBoats!!!! j n p
