About Sea Hunt Boats
Sea Hunt Boats began in 1995 when a father – son team started building center console fishing boats in a small plant outside of Columbia, South Carolina. Demand for the elite product caused expansion of the facilities and product line at a comfortable pace to insure that the original attention to details and high quality was never lost. By 2004 the little boat company that started in a one-room shop expanded to a compact boat building plant that was bursting at the seams. Sea Hunt Boats commitment to customer service and dealer support propelled the company to a defining point…Relocation and Expansion! In March 2006, Sea Hunt Boats started operations in a state of the art 170,000 square foot facility, with the same values that were responsible for our growth.
Construction of Sea Hunt Boats
At Sea Hunt Boats we believe good construction starts with good boat design. Every Sea Hunt Boat model begins with pencil meeting paper. An integral part of the Sea Hunt Boats design team is a 5th generation boat designer. The design team knows it takes a good hull design to make a boat have a soft ride and good performance within all horsepower ranges. Sea Hunt Boats are extra wide from chine to chine, providing more displacement reducing the “rock and roll” when you move about the boat. Sea Hunt Boats come on plane quickly requiring less horsepower to perform correctly at any speed. Viewed from the bow the sharp entry and “Carolina Flair” are apparent. Sea Hunt Boats are designed and engineered from the keel up to give the driest, smoothest, and most comfortable ride possible. Our design team carefully considers the use of every inch of space to give boaters the most cockpit room and storage space possible.
Each Sea Hunt Boat starts with the best combinations of premium gel coat, resin, and fiberglass that are available today. For maximum strength to weight ratio, Sea Hunt Boats uses Aircell, a composite material to reinforce the fiberglass floors. Fiberglass transoms are cored with a double layer of Coosa Composites’ (“Blue Water Series” strongest and stiffest) panels. Before the deck meets the hull, the all fiberglass grid stringer system and surrounding areas are foam filled, for added flotation and sound deadening. Whether it’s the 172 Triton or the 260 Triton, closed cell urethane foam is an important part of the construction process. Stainless steel deck hardware is through-bolted. Seats, leaning post, and t-tops have large backing plates that are sandwiched in the fiberglass
These boats are manufactured with the finest high-tech fiberglass, Coosa Composites transoms; Aircell cored deck liners, and fiberglass grid stringer systems creating a rot free vessel. The combination of these excellent products and demanding construction techniques allows Sea Hunt Boats to offer a 10-year hull warranty. All because your boating pleasure is important and that is the lifeblood of our business.
