ShoreMaster

Trolling Motors: If the trolling motor has a detach plate, it is best to remove the trolling motor when using the cover. In which case the cover can be ordered without the trolling motor modification.

Motor Hoods: Upon check out please enter the following information about your engine or we will default to the largest engine that your boat is rated for:

  • Engine Manufacturer
  • Horsepower
  • 2 or 4 Stroke

Port Side Trolling Motor Upgrade

The trolling motor upgrade is essential for a good fit. Is definitely worth the price.

Little Uneasy but Satisified
by Jonathan from Shakopee, Minnesota on July 08, 2014
I was a little uneasy ordering the extra trolling motor upgrade, since it was non-returnable if I didn't like it, but it's great. I can't fathom the idea of taking the motor off the rail each time I need to cover my boat. It has all the extra material in the right place where you need it and it fits perfect. I put this on my 2000 Crestliner fish hawk and its great. Don't hesitate like I did. A+++

Needed upgrade

The portside trolling motor upgrade really helped to give my boat cover a tight fit. It was a needed upgrade and I am happy I made the purchase.

Doesn't fit our trolling motor well
by Jeffery from Cedar Rapids, Iowa on June 01, 2014
We have a Minn Kota Terrova trolling motor, which is not an unusual size or anything, but the pocket in this cover doesn't fit it at all. I expected a little more structured pocket in the cover, but it appears that just left a little extra fabric in the port side of the cover and randomly sewed in an extra layer of fabric in two spots. Unfortunately, the two spots where they added the extra fabric doesn't match either the head or prop on my trolling motor, so we had to pad them ourselves with foam rubber.

boat cover
by George from Raymond, New Hampshire on May 27, 2014
My last Shoremaster boat cover purchased 6 years ago had the outboard motor hood sewn directly to the boat cover. It was part of the boat cover. This hood was completely separate. Nothing on your website nor ShorMaster's website stated that it was unattached. I expected it to be part of the boat cover and it was not. Also the reinforcement area for the front cleats are not in the correct position. They do not reinforce the cover at the cleats or gas filler.

Lund 16' boat cover
by a Customer from Pinckney, Michigan on July 08, 2013
The cover I received was made for a 17' boat, and not a 16' boat. The model name for my boat clearly defines a 16' boat, "Lund Rebel 16 SS Adventure". The boat registration also states 16'. I paid $37.50 for return shipping, for their mistake.

poor fit
by Gary from North Richland Hills, Texas on June 29, 2013
Not nearly enough room allowance for my trolling motor. Made to bow fit too short. They also shorted me 2 tiedown straps. I had to run all over town to find the appropriate tiedown straps. Definitely look to another source for a mooring cover. The fit was only slightly better than a universal fit cover that can be purchased for significantly less money

very sloppy fit
by Ronald from Sunnyvale, Texas on June 28, 2013
This is far from fitting my trolling motor. There is no extra padding to keep motor from tearing thru in stress points.not at all custom. Seams on cover are sloppy and not straight in the middle of the boat. Far from a custom cover that it is supposed to be

Boat Cover
by William from Warren, Michigan on April 29, 2013
This seems to be a quality boat cover. It has a VERY tight fit. I'm still stretching it, after a couple weeks, to get the last corner just right.

Need to send instructions
by Kevin from Hanover, Pennsylvania on June 13, 2014
When unpacked the boat cover I as pleased and impressed with the look and quality of the product. It is much thicker and nicer than the one I replaced . It was a bit disappointing to find that there were no instructions of any kind packaged with the cover. This sounds simple, but without instructions we do not know why we received what appear to be 2 outboard motor covers. We installed the cover as we thought best and then found that we had several points on the boat where the tie down straps were not long enough to secure them to the trailer. Also, when we put the cover on the first time we discovered that there were two more tie down loops on the cover than there was tie down straps. My wife is a decent seamstress and bought material and clips to make the longer straps and to reach the longer tie down points. The cover looks nice and does a great job of protecting my boat from the weather. It just would have been nice to have all the straps and have straps that were sufficiently long.

No 'Upgrade' Was Included In My Cover
by Jordan from Calgary, Alberta on September 03, 2013
I paid extra to have a port-side kicker modification sewn into my custom boat cover. While I will say that the cover fits well, it was not modified, nor is it different from the starboard side in any way. I had to remove the kicker motor, as well as the mounting plate from the transom in order to get the cover to fit he boat properly. I wouldn't be super disappointed that this 'upgrade' was missed, left out or otherwise simply neglected to be a part of my order, other than the fact that I was charged and had paid for it. Overall, the cover is not a whole lot better than a generic one that you can get from the shelf at Bass Pro, yet is almost triple the cost. Disappointed in the purchase in general, and would like a refund for my 'upgrade' that was overlooked.
