Repair kit needs a little repairing
by Jeffrey from Panama City, Florida on June 25, 2012
I purchased two of the repair kits, one worked as the instructions said. When I installed the other one, I had a problem with the new bushing wanting to come back out of the base. I had to wait for the glue to dry and trim the bushing. I think after looking back, the glue in one kit might haver been a little dry.

How much glue to apply?
Springfield recommends applying the glue in a cross pattern on the top and down the sides at 12 O'clock, 3 O'Clock, 6 O'Clock, and 9 O'Clock. the bottle contains .5 oz of glue. Springfield recommends using half of the glue provided.

Does this kit include both tapered and straight bushings?
Yes, The kit has 1 tapered and 1 straight bushing.

I have purchased one of these kits, do you sell just the straight bushing as i dont need the tapered or another instalation mandrell?
We do not have it available separately unfortunately. The part number to it is 4721027. We can look into a special order, but you will need to call in for that.

What is the best way to remove the remaining bushing from the post hole without damaging the boat deck?
That really depends because some posts are not removable from the base. If it is removable sometimes WD-40 would do the trick. If not there could be structural issues and we would recommend contacting your boat dealer or asking this question in our forums which connects you with thousands of boaters at http://forums.iboats.com/

I have a 2004 Ranger 210VS that uses a Springfield Powere Rise part # 1642008. Is this the kit I need to repair the pedestal so it will take the new pole? Old bushing is stuck on the old pole. Thanks.?
This is just a repair kit to the base. If you need the post bushing then you need to get this bushing: http://www.iboats.com/Spring-Lock-Post-Bushing-Springfield-Marine/dm/view_id.342141
