3-Step System
Whether your boat is dry stored or kept in fresh or salt water it can accumulate all types of contaminates like dirt, grease, oils, grime, salt and other loose material, which will dull and stain fiberglass, wood, metal and painted surfaces. Interlux Boatcare products have been specifically designed to both beautify and protect your boat. Each product can be used on their own or in combination with others by following the three step system.

The first step to keep your boat in pristine condition is to use Interlux All-Purpose Boat Soap with Wax which is an environmentally friendly and concentrated wash & wax formula, that leaves surfaces shiny and water repellant. This nonabrasive cleaner will not strip wax and may be used regularly without removing wax and can be mixed with fresh or salt water.

Interlux All-Purpose Boat Soap with Wax consists of a blend of water based surface active substances (known as surfactants) that work quickly and easily on the surface to dissolve dirt and grime. Most household cleaners (such as dish soap) have a high alkalinity with a pH value of 14, which is too aggressive for fiberglass and paint. The strong alkalinity not only removes the dirt but completely strips off the wax protection and in some cases can even etch the gelcoat surface if allowed to dry out.

Interlux All-Purpose Boat Soap with Wax has been formulated with a neutral pH value of 7 so it does not contain harmful alkalinity or acids but contains the same powerful surfactants to quickly and easily remove grime and dirt build up . This makes Interlux All-Purpose Boat Soap with Wax ideal for use on all types of boats.

Over time, surfaces that are exposed to UV rays, water and general contaminants begin to show below surface defects like oxidation, scratches and swirls. This is because the surface begins to degrade, exposing the underlying surface to harsh conditions. The result is a dull lifeless finish.

To restore the finish use Interlux Light Duty Rubbing Compound which will remove light scratches and minor oxidation from gelcoat, fiberglass and painted surfaces. Rubbing compounds consist of different sized abrasive rubbing grains that work to remove a thin layer of the surface, leaving a new renewed matt surface behind. Light Duty Rubbing Compound contains a blend of fine rubbing grains that safely yet effectively renew the surface of gelcoat, fiberglass and painted surfaces with out damaging it.

Once you have cleaned and restored your finish back to a smooth clean surface, you will want to restore the gloss and protect the finish. Applying a layer of Interlux Premium Teflon® Marine Wax with Cleaner followed by Interlux UV Protectant & Teflon Wax Sealer is the best way to accomplish this.

Premium Teflon Marine Wax with Cleaner contains a mixture of cleaning surfactants, fine polishing grains, wax and Teflon that combines to leave a glossy wax layer on the surface. This layer repels attack from UV rays, water, dirt, grime, oil and salt.

When used in combination, Premium Teflon Marine Wax with Cleaner and UV Protectant & Teflon Wax Sealer provide the perfect protection system for fiberglass, wood, metal and painted surfaces. By applying one coat of UV Protectant & Teflon Wax Sealer you can double the life of wax. If you wait twenty-four hours and apply a second coat you can achieve up to three times the life of wax. Protection that can last a whole season after just two applications! UV Protectant & Teflon Wax Sealer can also be used on new surfaces that are in excellent condition without wax as a surface protectant.
