New 2015 Spyder
Composite Research, opening in 1994, has their factory in Blackshear, Georgia(GA). Their new factory is up to date in efficiency and is environmentally friendly. After examining the pricing of the flats boats and skiffs, Composite Research thought to make their version, and at a cheaper price. In 2008, under the Spyder brand, Composite Research started to manufacture their authentic flats and skiff boats. Spyder made changes to the design to make the glide easier and more able to steer while decreasing the slap of water on the hull. Spyder's goal was to set about improving the flats boat.
Spyder is committed to creating and manufacturing the best quality and workmanship at prices that are more affordable. Spyder's Focus is to build flats boats that are reliable with the resourcefulness to cover the needs of the boating community as they continue to look to improve and provide the best product available. Great for fishing, the small flats and skiffs are quick and easy to maneuver into the fishing areas you need to get to. Spyders flats boats have stability for fishing, whether you are on the deck, at the bow or up on the poling platform to steer. Spyder flats boats will give you the ride you are looking for. Spyder flats boats are constructed with the "Foam and Glass I-beam" system that they are known for which creates great strength and still provides a quiet drive using the poling steer.
The Spyder FX series is built with the fisherman in mind and offer storage for rods and gear. They also include insulated bait wells and catch wells along with stainless rub rails and cleats that flush mount for convenience. Powering options offered through Spyder are Yamaha, Mercury or Suzuki Outboard motors. Spyder offer their flats boats and skiff boats with or without the poling platform so you can get the boat that you are looking for.
