The Super Lube Replacement Hub Kit is pre-assembled and pre-greased, which considerably cuts down installation time and installation error. The best feature of this hub kit is when you pump grease into the external fitting at the back, old grease is forced out. With this kit, cleaning becomes a one-step job of removing old grease from the dust cap. The grease that you just pumped into the hub is filled in a completely sealed grease reservoir chamber that ensures maximum lubrication. Excellent lubrication of the hub translates as an extension of life of the bearings. The rubber expansion cap combined with the nut locking pin prevents leaks.

Boating season has finally arrived and you are ready to hit the water. Now is a good time to make sure your trailer can get your boat to and from the water without problems.

Trailer hubs are often the parts that need the most attention but receive the least. Hubs are an important component of your trailer and are routinely exposed to the harshest and most demanding conditions. In the past, marine hubs needed to be removed from the trailer axel, cleaned, and re-packed with grease. This was a dirty and time-consuming procedure.

There are products on the market that claim to keep hubs protected and allow grease to be added. When using these products, new grease is added to the front of the hub. A limitation of this design is the potential of new, or replacement grease never reaching the second inner bearing. By adding additional and perhaps excessive amounts of grease to ensure the inner bearing is properly lubricated, owners run the risk of damaging the seal in the hub. This results in the loss of grease and intrusion of water and other damaging contaminants to the inner workings of the hub.

Today's owners of marine and other types of trailers can be confident that their hubs are properly lubricated while reducing the cost and time of maintaining their hubs. Super Lube hubs manufactured by Tie Down Engineering make routine maintenance easy.

Super Lube hubs feature a zerk fitting on the back of the hub that allows owners to easily attach a grease gun and replace old and worn out grease. The location of the zerk on the back of the hub ensures that both the inner and outer bearings receive grease while pushing old grease, water, and contaminants out of the hub and into the dust cap for easy removal. Super Lube hubs are available in capacities ranging from 1,250 pounds up to 1,750 pounds.

Customers also have a choice in the coatings for their Super Lube hubs of either the standard painted finish or the added protection of the GalvX finish which will stand up to years of exposure to harsh outdoor and marine environments.

Super Lube hubs do not eliminate hub maintenance. They just make it a whole lot easier.

Do these have the 5 x 4.5 bolt pattern?
Tie Down engineering no longer makes this product so they were unable to provide dimensions. It is now made by Dexter.

I have a Carry-on Trailer with 1,250 lb. 5-Bolt Hubs. Spindle and bearings are 1 1/16". I want to avoid the hassle of removing and repacking the bearings. Can I replace my hubs with the Tie Down Engineering Super Lube 5-Bolt 1-1/16" Hub Kit Assembly?

I currently have super lube axles with an oil bath set up. Can I keep the axles and switch to a super lube hub?
The axles must have zerk fittings.

What other brands of grease are compatible with the installed Lucas grease?
Tie Down confirms that you can use any marine lithium based grease. However, you will need to remove bearings and remove all grease before using another brand of grease.
