New 2009 Tige Boats
“Dramatically different for a Reason.”
Tige was founded in 1991 in Merced, Calif. In 1995, the company moved its headquarters and manufacturing facility to Abilene, Texas, where it is currently located.
During the early 1990s Tige looked to differentiate itself by creating a one-of-a-kind name that embodied quality, performance and uniqueness – qualities inherent to the Tige product. The decision was made to base the name on the word Tiger, the childhood nickname of the company’s founder, Charlie Pigeon. By dropping the “r” and adding an accent over the “é”, the name originated with a European flair that complimented the flowing, euro-design of the company’s first boat models and further differentiated the brand from the competition. The name is pronounced “tye-guh.”
Tige manufactures seven direct drive and sport V inboard models ranging from 20 to 24 feet in length. Each boat features the patented Tige ConvexV hull and TAPS2 technology. All are backed by the Tige LifePlus Lifetime Replacement Warranty, the only replacement warranty in the industry. Tige has more than 80 dealers in 12 countries.
The Tigé Difference
Shape-matters. The unique shape of the ConvexV hull is the basis for Tige’s superior multi-sport versatility, incredible performance and unmatched ride. Reshaping the decades-old traditional inboard hull has allowed Tige to deliver a multi-sport inboard that is truly different and far superior to any other boat on the water. All other inboards utilize a fixed-position hull originally designed specifically for water skiing. These Tige hulls are shaped with a slight downturn or “hook” at the transom that assures quick planning and a slalom-type wake. In wakeboard configuration, however, the hull needs to plow low through the water. This requires a heavy ballast or drag hardware to counteract the permanent planning characteristics of the traditional inboard hull.
Push-Button Wake Control. The ConvexV hull and TAPS2 delivers instant shift-on-the-fly performance control and a full range of wake characteristics. With TAPS2 set in the down position at 1 or 2, the ConvexV hull planes instantly to deliver clean, faint slalom wakes. The bow down attitude also allows maximum forward visibility.
Bye Bye Ballast, Hello Fuel Efficiency. Let’s face it…ballast is a hassle. But ballast and drag hardware are a wakeboarding necessity in traditional inboards. Not so in Tige. For all riders, the patented Tige ConvexV hull and TigeTAPS2 deliver phenomenal wakeboarding wakes without ballast or drag hardware.
Quality Engineering
Product integrity and quality frequently involve much more than what meets the eye. Tige balances its eye-catching style with solid substance and inner strength, the result of experienced composite engineering, the most advanced materials, proven technology and sound boat building techniques. The all-composite Tige hull is stronger, thicker and contains far more fiberglass than any other inboard or I/O on the water. This superior engineering and quality helped Tige earn the prestigious NMMA Award for Excellence in Customer Satisfaction for 2005 and 2006.
We Don’t Just Fix It…We Replace It
The Tige LifePlus Lifetime Replacement Warranty is the only replacement warranty in the industry, and it’s a bold statement about our faith in Tige quality and product integrity. Buy a new Tige, and if there is ever a structural failure, degradation or delamination for as long as you own your boat, we will replace your Tige a no charge.
