I have had many bass boats thru the years, 3 Hydra Sports and a 18' Skeeter all of these were 2 stroke 150 Johnson's expect for the Skeeter which had a 235 Johnson. Due to a medical condition (broken back and spinal fusion) I decided I would go with a lighter boat, this is my 1st aluminum hull boat. all I can say is "What A Difference" the lighter Hull makes, I can get into the shallows where I would never dream of taking my fiberglass boats, the 75 Mecury OptiMax is more than enough power to push this 17'7" boat to 50 mph +. I have fished this boat for about 80 hours so far and it setup and layout is perfect for 1-2 people, it draws approximately 8" of water at rest and will get me where I need to go, It handles 2'-4' waves well and provides a smooth ride in all conditions. I would recommend this as a boat for a serious Bass fisherman. I have hit rocks and stumps at speed and trolling with no so much as a scratch or dent to the hull. when it comes to launching and putting the boat on the trailer the light weight of the boat makes it very easy for 1 man. I have heard people say this is a good "starter boat", I strongly disagree, this is a tournament ready boat. I plan on keeping this boat for years to come. let others say what they want but I would bet they have never fished this boat, it will get you places the other 50k rigs cannot go and the durability of the hull and over all lay out is second to none.
