Functional - Smooth Shifting by Nathan - Ottumwa, IowaJune 23, 2011
I converted my OMC outdrive to Merc and used this shifter to get the control cable throws correct. It bolted onto the gunwale without much trouble. Operates smoothly. The wiring diagram for the trim/tilt switch was accurate and got me up and running on the first try. The neutral start switch did not work and once it was all installed I didn't want to take it all apart to figure out why it wasn't working so I just bypassed it in the boat harness. I suggest checking function of the neutral start switch with an ohmmeter before installing the shifter assembly.
