The Uflex Side Mount Single Lever Control is designed to control both the throttle and shift, making it an ideal choice for boats with outboard, inboard or I/O. The lever assembly is constructed of marine-grade aluminum for superior strength and long-lasting use. The design prevents accidental gear engagement and allows easy and safe shifting. And, this lever control has an adjustable brake tension release system for added convenience. The built-in pull-out handle allows easy disengagement of the shift for warm up.

  • Operate both throttle and shift
  • Prevents accidental gear engagement
  • Brake tension adjustable release system

This control includes neutral safety switch that eliminates in-gear starting. You can install the lever control either horizontally or vertically on the boat’s starboard or port. It is designed for use with all Teleflex engine control cables except CC170.

Features of Uflex Side Mount Single Lever Control:

  • Single lever/dual action control to operate both throttle and shift
  • Suitable for any type of boat with outboard, inboard or I/O power plants

New parts for an antique vessel
by William from Elephant Butte, New Mexico on August 13, 2012
I'm restoring a 1960 Glasspar Seafair Sedan, and iboats has been instrumental (no pun intended) in providing me with the best gear for this job in a very friendly and timely manner. The boat is nearly ready for he water, and I'll be happy to recommend iboats to all my friends and crew.Of particularly outstanding professionalism as Candace Bell, a fine human being and a great representative for the company.

Functional - Smooth Shifting
by Nathan from Bloomfield, Iowa on June 23, 2011
I converted my OMC outdrive to Merc and used this shifter to get the control cable throws correct. It bolted onto the gunwale without much trouble. Operates smoothly. The wiring diagram for the trim/tilt switch was accurate and got me up and running on the first try. The neutral start switch did not work and once it was all installed I didn't want to take it all apart to figure out why it wasn't working so I just bypassed it in the boat harness. I suggest checking function of the neutral start switch with an ohmmeter before installing the shifter assembly.

A:
It comes with the lever, but it does not come with cables.
A:
Lever only, cables not included.

Q:
What cables do you need for the B183 to use it for a 1989 Johnson 9.9?
A:
You need one of these (you'll need to know length): http://www.iboats.com/C14-Johnson-Evinrude-OMC-Control-Cables-by-Uflex/dm/view_id.1183586

Q:
Will this work on a 1978 Johnson Seahorse 55 HP?
A:
It will work with all outboard engines except those with Teleflex CC170 and CC189 cables.

Q:
What cables are needed with the b183 and 1986 mercury 35 hp combo?
A:
You need the C5X-- and length needed. You will also require the K35 connection kit.

Q:
How do i attach cables on a tiller control 25 mercury,1993 year?
A:
You will need to refer to your repair manual for your motor. We do not have tech support here.

Q:
Willitfit1972 searay183 with100esl72r?
A:
No this is not the correct one for you. It is provided with connection kits for Mercury. Based on your engine the B184 series is not a good option for you. A good option for you might be part number 309474 which is similar to this as it works with Johnson/Evinrude style cables.

Q:
Need to replace entire throttle control on a nautica inflatable jet rib, merc 175 hp, 2001. will this part work?
A:
Yes this will work as it comes with the Mercury connection kit to adapt to Mercury throttle/shift control cables.

Q:
I want to install this on 1985 Mariner 75hp O/B. The boat is a center console, the control needs to go on the right side with the leaver pointing aft in neutral, the control plate needs to be pointed down, my cabels come up from the deck. Can handle be moved the coorect position I need?
A:
Uflex confirms that you can. It can be mounted in any of the 90 degree positions. So 90, 180, etc.

Q:
Looking for replacement handle for 85 mercruiser I/O w power trim/tilt. does this fit the bill?
A:
Yeah it works with Mercury OEM style cables. So you can use this as a replacement if needed. If you have further questions contact us at the number at the top of the page.

Q:
If I just get the lever, will it fit mercruiser 140 alpha one I/O?
A:
You would need to get the whole unit with correct cables if you want to order this. For just a replacement lever you will need to check if you have the OEM remote or an aftermarket remote and see who the manufacturer really is. If you have further questions contact us at the number at the top of the page.

Q:
Will this work with a 1978 mercury 140 outboard?
A:
Yes.

Q:

Yes. Assuming you are using OEM cables, this will work for you. Unless your cable model is the CC170.

It is as pictured. The mounting control box plus the lever.

Q:
Will this work on a 1987 starcraft medalist 19 ft and can I use the cables I all ready have on boat?
A:
It will depend on your motor, but for the most part yes. It accepts Mercury, current Johnson/Evinrude, Yamaha, Suzuki, Honda, and Volvo style cables.

Q:
Will this work on a 1984 Searay with a Mercruiser engine?
A:
Yes it will as it comes with the K35 connection kit to adapt to Mercury cables.

Q:
Is this compatible with Teleflex Johnson style cables?
A:
Yes it is except CC170 cables. Teleflex is now under the name of SeaStar.
