Owners and their cocker spaniel rescued
Tampa, Florida (March 4, 2013) Yet again, another reason to always make sure your dog has a Paws Aboard Doggy Life Jacket on when they are in or around water. On Friday, February 22, 2013 in the Intracoastal Waterway near Ponce Inlet and New Smyrna Beach, Florida, a 42 foot sailboat ran aground and slowly sank. The two boat owners were rescued along with their cocker spaniel ‘Annie’. All can be seen in the picture wearing their life jackets; including Annie the dog.
Paws Aboard has continued to promote safety as their number one priority when marketing their products along with their best selling doggy life jackets. A common myth that most people believe is that all dogs can swim. Although many dogs are able to swim, they also get tired and can become easily disoriented especially in an emergency situation.
Disasters such as these provide countless reasons to stock your boat with a doggy life jacket for your best friend. Most dogs are considered part of the family and not properly ensuring their safety on board is putting their lives at risk, along with other boat passengers’ lives. It is always better to be safe than sorry.
Reasons to own a Paws Aboard Doggy Life Jacket:
- Provide ultimate buoyancy in case of emergencies or if the dog falls off the boat
- Reflective strips for maximum visibility; great for night time boating
- Handle on top for easy grabbing if the dog jumps off or is knocked off
- Comfort, safety, and style all in one
