About Remote-Troll Some 25 years ago, Roy Solt was trying to rig an outboard motor to his boat. Unable to find a mount that worked like he wanted it to, Roy decided to build his own. He said his first attempt was far from perfectconstructed of heavy ironbut it worked. Believing in his idea, Roy fabricated a few more mounts and introduced them to the public at a boat show in Salt Lake City, Utah. His invention was an immediate success, a new business was launched, and the Remote-Troll began to work wonders for people serious about catching fish. Evolution of the Remote-Troll Over the years, the Remote-Troll has evolved into the light and dependable product we sell today. This evolution stems from our desire to better the Remote-Troll as emerging techology allows. We manufacture Remote-Trolls with high-tech, computerized equipment. For example, we cut our aluminum with a water-jet, machine our components using CNC lathes, and robotically weld our parts. After welding, we powder-coat the body in either white or silver, assemble the pieces and test the Remote-Troll to insure that it meets your expectations. Why you need a Remote-Troll The Remote-Troll not only frees you from the tiller for hours on end, but allows you to move around your boat to tend lines and downriggers, net fishand yes, even cook breakfastall while maintaining control of your boat with a simple little switch that travels with you.
