In 2006, Sea Ray made some rather remarkable changes to the 260 Dancer. The new design made for a sleeker, more ergonomic boat. The 260 outshines any other boat in her class and boast features normally found on only larger, more expensive cruisers. Along with the new, you still get Sea Rays quality construction. Always at the top of the list in owner satisfaction and loyalty, with this 260 you can see why. Many boats claim to have thought of everything, this one may have achieved it. Above and beyond even the maximum factory options, there is nothing missing on this Dancer. To top it off, she is still 8'6" beam for easy trailering.

Starting aft, the integral swim platform is clear and uncluttered. The four step stainless steel swim ladder is tucked away under the platform so there is no toe catcher when the ladder is deployed. There is a large stowage locker where the electrical and water connections are kept of of sight and out of the weather. Cords and hoses feed out through a small opening for a very squared away look when dockside. There are straps to secure lines and spare gear, plus plenty of room for buckets, fenders or what you need handy, but out of sight. A wash down spigot is in the storage area, and a hot and cold shower serves the swim platform.

The cockpit on this Dancer is a great entertainment spot. Entering through the acrylic transom door, to starboard is a very roomy setee with removeable table and fiberglass storage base. Across from the helm is another large sun pad lounge. A wet bar with corian countertop, sink, stainless steel faucet, beverage holders stainless steel handrail and plenty of storage below, is placed for ease of se by either area. The engine access is electrically operated from the helm. A dozen stainless steel beverage holders are well placed around the cockpit. Indirect lighting adds ambiance and safety after dark. The cabin entry door with integral steps lead to the fordeck. There is plenty of storage from under seating to in dash glovebox. The entire aft deck is covered by a full enclosure of Sunbrella. Extra U-shaped zippered windows were added to allow ventilation while giving sun protection. The two piece enclosure meets at the radar arch.

The helm is well laid out and very comfortable. An adjustable bucket helm seat with flip up bolster makes for easy sitting, leaning or standing while underway. Sea Rays Smart Craft instrumentation and diagnostics keep you posted on the operation of the Mercury power plant. As with all Sea Rays, this Dancer meets all USCG, ABYC and NMMA certifications. This Dancer is well equipped for all but the most stringent navigation. Raymarine VHF 25, built In 25 Watt Marine Radio with controls in handset, new Shakespeare VHF antenna and Stainless Steel Mount. Well placed for easy view is a Raymarine A-65 GPS Chart plotter with Navionics charts and digital depth sounder/fish finder option. CF chart card included with unit. Clairon Stereo . Sirius Satellite Radio, Single CD and 6 CD Changer, AM, FM, Aux In, with remote control head at helm. Glomex Marine Television Antenna that is amplified. A lighted Ritchie compass is front and center to keep and eye on the electronics.

The cabin is spacious and really good looking. The carpet and upholstery are top notch and the woodwork adds a rich and warm look. This interior is as close to new as I have seen. The galley has all of the tools you would expect and a generator to make them useful at all times. Norcold Refrigerator/Freezer combination - Hot and cold sink with cover Kenyon single burner electric cook top - Corian counter tops and beautifully wood-grained cabinetry make a sharp and useful galley arrangement. Opposite the galley is the enclosed head with Vacu-flush commode, vanity with hot and cold wash basin and stand up shower. The head has good lighting and an opening port for ventilation.

Forward is a U-shaped dinette with removable table and insert to make into a roomy berth. The cabin is served by a Clarion stereo with satellite radio. There is also a helm remote for stereo. Storage is plentiful throughout the cabin. The owner has added some stainless holders to make the most of the stowage. The mid cabin is also a nice arrangement with relaxing by day and comfortable berthing by night. This boat has upgraded memory foam type mattresses.

Deck Gear:You will not find another 260 with an anchor windlass, it is not even a Sea Ray option. Over $3500.00 upgrade that will make anchoring out an adventure, not an ordeal. All metal is stainless steel, from screws, rails, bow and stern eyes, cleats, and hinges. The deck has nice non-slip gel surface.

Mechanical:Once you have single engine, you will never want to go to twins. Todays engines are so dependable that many of the old arguments about redundancy are mute. With the cost of upkeep you save, you can spend more on cruising and less on upkeep. 6.2L Mercruiser gasoline engine 320 HP - Engine hours 207.Had oil change at 191 hours.Bravo 3 Outdrive with counter rotating stainless steel duo-prop.Hydraulic Trim Tabs.Kohler 5KW Low Emission Twin Cylinder Generator remote start, freshwater cooling . New fuel filters 145 hours . New fuel pumps low and high plus injector at 150 hours. All factory upgrades installed. Total generator hours to date 157. Transferrable warranty has a couple years left on gennie.Nice option: Freshwater internal access engine flush kit for flushing engine while out of the water on a lift or other area when flushing muffs cannot be used.

You will not find a better equipped 260DA on the market, or anywhere else. Every option and then some. Pamper yourself, more importantly your crew and check out this first class Sundancer.

When you compare this 260 to others on the market keep in mind to compare all of the features and options here that may not be aboard a lesser boat. For a little bit more, you are getting a lot more boat.
