CONSTRUCTION:
Manually layed hull with 14 layers glass fibre with 15 coats of resin, strengthened with 8 longitudinal ribs crossed with 12 transverse ribs. Stainless steel reinforcements and supports are provided with AISI 316 externally and AISI 304 internally. Bulkheads are of marine ply in 7 layers and bonded to the hull with 60mm of lamination. The deck is reinforced with Termanto sandwich for tremendous sheer strength, longevity, thermal and acoustic quality. -Dark Blue Gel coat Hull (Reichhold/USA) -Full lead keel, draft 2.20 m
The hull and deck are bonded together with a special adhesive, which seals the surface perfectly and alone would be sufficient to ensure a perfect bond between hull and deck. However, hull and deck are mecanically fixed with 610 stainless steel rivets of 5mm diameter covered with two layers of mat and gelcoat. On top of that, the aluminium toerail is fixed with 200 screws of 6mm diameter. This double system produces a robust and an integral waterproof joint. The keel is bolted on with ten (10) 27mm bolts and one (1) 12mm and then glued with epoxy resin. The galvanised U metal brakets (6mm thick)are positioned so as to distribute the keel loading over the strongest and most extensive layers of GRP. The chainplates are made of 12mm stainless steel and are attached to the hull by 25mm steel tie rods, these in turn are secured with 9#16mm diameter bolts to a stainless steel fixing plate on the main rib which supports the mast base. The rudder axle is a shaft of 80mm diameter stainless steel, with the rudder blade internal structure also being made of 12mm thick stainless steel plates. The shaft rotates on two shaft bearings 1.14 metres apart, with a self-aligning ball bearing system which reduces friction to a minimum. All components supplied and installed are of higher standard than required.

HISTORY
In November 2005 sellers decided to use "Eleuthera" more for cruising than for racing. Step by stepwe started to add material to the boat. So after we set the boat on dry, put the mast was on land and changed the shrouds. What a good chance it was to install also a new radar and the Sparcraft steps on the mast.We also decided to attach the two Stalock insulators on the backstay, so we would have been ready to install in Gibraltar the brand new Icom. Then we got the new ertalon rudder bearing from Cantiere del Pardo and we started a very serious anti-osmotic protection, as we were expecting to sail her in warm waters for a long period of time. We got rid of the fore water tank, which was polyurethane and cracked on the top sealing, and we constucted two new inox ones, 120 lt. each. Then we had to install the Spectra dessalinator , so we had to ask our carpenter to rebuild the back of the toilet boards inorder to make the access behind there.Through that access we passed the dessalinator's thin tubes from the stern to the middle of the boat and then to the bow.On the stern, in the locker behind the steering wheel, is the main high pressure pump, Clark pump is being called by Spectra, the U.S. manufacturer , together with the other 2 self-priming pumps,we use one or both of them, depends on the noise, electrical consumption , water production or whatever might be important that moment. I forgot to mention the membrane which is also housed in the same stern locker. It's capabilities are up to 55-60 liters/hour on 12Volts at 16Amps per pump. That consumption was the main reason to decide the number four for the four 85W Kyocera solar panels plus the Air- X wind generator. So, when we use the dessalinator ,even for 3 hours (ideally between 1200 and 1500) we ....miss the engine noise! Of course, we avoid the simultaneous use of the SSB,not because it is not supported by this electrical arrangement, but because we don't like huge simultaneous deep discharges, neither our batteries do. The SSB was installed in Gibraltar by a British team under our close supervision and is grounded on the water tank and works like a charm. We were able to talk ,300nm from the Canaries, with Olympia Radio, the official state operator back home. The roll bar, the four solar panels and the wind generator were installed in one of the Canary Islands, Lanzarotte ,by another British team, again under our close supervision. The yacht carries the greek flag with all the tax advantages and obligation disadvantages, but we didn't use it with more than 5-6 passengers, 3 passengers was the average, a real exclusive use.
