Red Sky at Night with JB Cornwell | Blue Water and Golden Fish

Many locals who fished for recreation had commercial fishing licenses so they could sell extra fish for gas money. I had mine so that I could swap extra fish for shrimp and lobster at the wholesale fish market!

My primary prey were mahi mahi, but I caught a lot of small tuna. An occasional wahoo or sailfish would swim off with my lure and a lot of line. I persisted in using light tackle (for salt water) because of the thrilling fight put up by the mahi mahi. I also targeted mahi mahi because they are truly a gourmet’s delight when prepared any of a dozen ways. I didn’t object to a blackfin tuna in the catch because they make the very best sashimi, another of my favorites.

Product Spotlight | Confessions of a SeaDek Addict

I am a collector, not of stamps or vintage baseball cards or rare coins. No, I collect boats – small flats boats, aluminum jon boats, offshore fishing boats, you name it. It’s become a little weekend hobby of mine. I find boats, diamonds in the rough, to fix up and sell them. This has become increasingly easy nowadays with boats being unloaded for pennies on the dollar on every other street corner. I have found some real beauties out there. Some of these are like new, requiring very little repair, while others need a bit more polishing to really make them shine. From pesky spider cracks in the cockpit, rust stains on the bow from hardware, rips in the coaming bolsters, or dents in the swim platform, I had a myriad of problems to solve and needed time saving, affordable solutions for each of them. I talked with a buddy of mine who is a boat builder and he suggested that I take a look at SeaDek. I checked them out on-line and decided to give it a try. I am so glad I did, the product has completely transformed many of my boats, making them look like new again.
